Because I want to put a bfo I beam in over 3 walls. One span is over 6m though. That's for another thread! It's only money stopping me! ?
-
Espera diez minutos!

I wouldn't plaster it. In effect it'll be a door. That ceiling might be coming down.
-
Tidied up a bit. Bit of planing and sanding. Not finished yet. I was going to cover this with fire resistant pb. Thinking maybe instead to cover with MDF, maybe 9mm. Would I get away with 6mm? MDF will take a paint finish better than pb and be lighter I reckon. It'll all be infilled with sound absorbing Rockwool. Might do the hinge side next.

5 here soon!

I really like the idea of the Desmopol type coatings. Two things put me off, experience of "similar" roof repair products like Flexacryl, Cromapol etc on my flat roof not lasting too long and reviews like this. (Saying that my failed felt substrate is poor to start with). https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=92&t=1559067 I really though like the idea of it as in no laps or joints and the fact it's easily over coatable.

This is the thread started by @Jeremy Harris which I then hijacked cataloguing what I did:

If you score the cut line on ply you don't get a ragged edge like that... ?
-
My extractor is utter rubbish. The added pan take off I plumbed into the wc seems to do nothing either. Smells really seem to linger. The smell is supposed to go from "bottom" (?) left, to the ceiling mounted fan top right.
-
Agreed. Much better than that yellow stuff! ?
-
Or crack a few more and go for a crazed effect? ?
-
@MJNewton, you used Desmopol, how's it fairing? It's getting so I'll HAVE to do something with my flat roof. Looking for something that could then take limited foot traffic a bit like @tillywiz wanted. I've this mad idea for a central skylight on a big flat roof and ballasted PV trays up there. Non slip walkways for cleaning etc.

Critique my home automation cabinet wiring

I assume you are bequeathing all this to a non favoured child or somebody you don't like? ? -
I'm going back a good few years, 10 plus maybe, when Meteor were the easiest place to get the blue/brown. Never used or heard of Online, have they been around a while? Handy mind now I know.
-
Meteor Electrical over in NI do the Garo stuff. (Also 3-core SWA in "proper" blue/brown/green & yellow from memory. Well, as proper as it gets not being red & black).

I found two historic bore holes 100m or so either side of my house. Bodes well if was ever to want one I guess as both those and I are all on the same line at the bottom of the valley.

Same site I think as this link @Jeremy HarrisHarris put up: http://mapapps.bgs.ac.uk/geologyofbritain/home.html

If you can stretch to it then Pratley underground boxes are excellent.

Idiot boy I am! ? I should have glued the angle joints first and let them set. Only having one screw in, when I then screwed the upright on it's likely slightly twisted along its length. This has pulled two of the angle joints to less than 45deg. Perfect 45deg: The one below, less than 45deg: Too eager with the glue! I should have left the glue out for now. (Makes it harder anyway to do extra housing joints in the pieces). It might improve when I get the glue snots off and plane the slight joint overhangs but not enough I don't think. Guess the plasterboard cover will just have to "give" a bit!
-
Plenty of places where the holes are outside what's now considered proper. They're all still standing.
-
Same here with the bits of wood in tight & glued. Isn't the current hole drilling zone between 0.25 & 0.4 of span? Various drawings about. Maybe in the OSG? Electricians Guide To The Bldg Regs? I'd get up and look but it means leaving the tin of Celebrations unattended.
-
Not sure, @ProDave has one.
-
Chamfering the corner does indeed seem to soften the look. The Fakita recip saw and Parkside multi tool made an appearance. The 45deg lap joints done on the DeWalt radial arm saw. I'll trim the top one once the Gorilla glue has set. Reckon I might need another vertical member at the change of angle. This is going to be one big, hinged door covered in plasterboard. It'll look a bit tidier with a good sanding. The black marks are from the coating on the Saxton blades coming off and mixing with the Gorilla glue.

A few of us have the Hudson Reed Reign: https://www.victorianplumbing.co.uk/hudson-reed-reign-triple-concealed-thermostatic-shower-valve-round-plate-rei3411?

No. All the soffits and fascias need redoing. Rotting in parts tbh. Been putting it off as I want to change the roof but that isn't going to happen anytime soon so I'd best get on it in good old basic, (cheap), white uPVC. Working backwards tbh, all the felt edges are shot and need eaves protectors adding at least.
