Yes if no metal threaded inserts exist then self Tappers into the plastic will do, last resort is drill right through and a couple of thin wood screws into the timber behind .

It’s the OP,s choice. We can only advise.

Well done, it’s amazing how little a lockshield valve needs to be open on a rad near a boiler to heat up and steal from those furthest away.

From what you say about glueing only the edges it sounds like a “floating floor” and personally I hate them (I have a bathroom floor that’s floating and you can hear it’s hollow. It may be something you have to move with other than get it all taken up.

Welcome captain (ha, that was my nickname when at school!,,!), we love a project and pictures, lots of knowledge here from folk that have been there done that but don’t forget there is no such think as a stupid question, stupid is not asking. I too was out of date when I started my build and very helpful people here advised on best practice so bring on the questions.
-
Which is why I am still here after finishing my build and no chance of another but find the ideas bounded about in a subject I love inspiring.

Do you mean they got damp before they were fitted? So extra weight?

Well spotted, no triumph vitesse 2 litre mechanics, goes like stink and great fun (if your brave).will be up for sale next year, I believe it has a true 7k miles on it as I found it in a shed at Heathrow. The straight 6 cylinder engine sounds gorgeous (much better than the standard herald engine in most of these.

Till you hit the next granite boulder. Getting a decent earth near you must be difficult.
-
Makes sense, however having dealt with earth potential in a previous job it was established that depth and ground water content made a huge difference. That strip in dry crushed stone goes against the lessons I learnt in my previous job.

Yes not all sites qualify I guess so block and beam have their place. Yes? Any takers.

Whether he does or does not is not the point, nothing there requires taught skills, just be able to follow directions. Well like you I “suspect “ he didn’t do any of the physical work himself 🤷♂️ the only thing I didn’t understand (or did I miss it?) was the buried metal strap around the outside 🤷♂️. Earth?
-
Depends on your circumstances, there are those that are time poor and have funds to pay for block and beam and those with plenty of time and short on funds. Why not? He did it himself. From Cambridge dictionary. abbreviation for do-it-yourself: the activity of decorating or repairing your home, or making things for your home yourself, ratherthan paying someone else to do it for you:

With a name like that @Pocster is bound to like it 🤣

I am sure there are a few of us here that thought the same. Oh I agree, i wish I had studied to be an SE, I love that stuff.[too old now).

Or, what the Mayor would allow before you invest too much time and effort into a project that’s going nowhere 🤷♂️

Can you not protect the area (pic?)

Expanding PU wood glue that’s works on damp substrate. This is my “go to” glue for thst kind of work. Might be a problem tho if you have already covered it in other stuff.
-
More info required on where and how and what’s leaking (rain?)
-
I know you have proved this is not your case but years ago I had the same problem, came home from work to find the header tank (plastic) was so hot it was about to give way and flood the house, it started out square but ended up round. The immersion thermostat failed and boiled the water. With yours A thermastst somewhere has failed by the sound of it.

Brilliant, how tight did the screw feel putting it In?
