  1. said the man..... well I wasn't to know that grey stuff wasn't certified was I? So I grabbed some 11s and 22s ( BM open FGS!!!!!) and My god, spraying silicone (sorry, KY) on three piping corners and then trying to twist them to the right shape is like Turkish oil wrestling. Ya cant get yer hand to grip anywhere. Those pipe straps worked a treat. Now, how do I test this little branch of my system? I can't block the inside of the I/C can I? (Normal stoppers are too big)
  2. Thank you very much @JFDIY. Its very kind of you to lay out one way of sorting out my loo and shower drains. I am only just discovering the joys of making your own foul drainage runs. And playing with 45s, 30s , 22s and 11s is a pleasure that I have never had until today. It's a bit like playing with your grandchildrens' transformer toys. Just for fun, I had a go at making a loop out of all my corners : well, it is Friday after all. I take the point about the loo being on the main run : it makes emminent good sense to do that. You have taught me to look a bit harder at the layout of the base of the I/C. I'll remember that for next time. The complication of needing to add another run to that I/C (at a later date) and having to hand dig in what is now rock hard clay means I'll stick with the piping layout that we currrently have. But thanks all the same. Ian
  3. OK. PM on its way....
  4. Do you want my red laser ? + L-Box, receivers (2, one never used) , staff attachment, laser target, bubble level for the staff, wall / multi-surface attachment
  5. Is it worth selling my beautiful Bosch red line (380 GLL 3) and and buying a green equivlent? (Please say - yes - )
  6. Wanna job? I'll clear up.... promise.
  7. I do. Erm ... have to. The plan is to sell off at least some, but keep the Festool stuff that I slid in under the radar. Hope SWMBO doesn't read this
  8. I see you cleaning lady is self-isolating .....? Either that or get a cheaper camera.
  9. Whatever you buy, photograph each item, keep the invoice, photograph each invoice. Security mark each one Consider a tool safe Make sure your insurance cover for the total value of hand tools is adequate. I got to £5000 worth astonishingly quickly
  10. Wha? Bend a polypipe? You Charlie Atlas or summat?
  11. Yes. I will start bedding stuff in tomorrow. Haven't got 11s and 22s but I will sort that pronto.
  12. @PeterW, wots the craik with the 11 and 22 degree bends? Do I just make the same bodge up out of those?
  13. Happy night tonight...... might have a bit of giggle water .... Thanks @PeterW
  14. Wot, each section (pipe) ? .... bloody hell.
  15. I think @epsilonGreedy has implicitly accepted that the I/C is correctly orientated as is.....?
  16. Looks like I'm spending tomorrow digging ........ The peg at the end of the line is about 50mm from the side of the trench. So I need to shave another 80mm off the left hand side - which is a real ball ache because the land drain is about 81mm from the side: in other words, it's going to collapse. kcuf it
  17. Oh boogre. 11 or 22 - ah'm ahn it honey, ah'm an it.... if not, lets pray that @Bob has one lying around .... Jamie??? if you are reading this....? Why an 11 or 22? Whassa craik?
  18. Yes, it does have a kink : if I were to use your suggestion, that kink would be in the pipe, a few mm before it gets to the I/C. Wassa diffrunce? Somewhere, at some stage, the flow has to go through a 45 degree turn. Your way involves a good deal of digging in what is now bone-hard clay. After a solid week of digging (more now I come think of it) I've kind of had enough. Mind you, I don't want the good weather to end....... Thanks to @Bob, I have two of those Bend-It-With-Beckham (grey) joints. Any Gottchas using this? I'm using it because the level of the shower outlet is about 40mm higher than the loo outlet. Bummer. ( Oooops ? unintentional malapropism.) Thanks to @Construction Channel for the tip about holding the end of the pipe in place (in his case) bits of rebar. I used a fork to hold the assembly stable.
  19. My BCO has just this minute agreed that I can put a 135 from the shower outlet into the main run and a rodding point where the yellow dot is. Interestingly she suggested I arrange for the rain 'wash' from the piggery roof be used to help flush the foul drainage line. The roof is very small ( 5 by 1 ) . Here's a close-up To me it looks OK, but I have been so wrong so often ...........
  20. Right, thanks very much . Appreciate the attention to detail. I'll go and look at that now .... back in a few minnits.
  21. This inspection chamber will be 1100 mm below the ground level. The I/C base indicates the position of the foul drain for the loo. (Orange elipse) Our shower drain (red elipse) exits the property upstream of the toilet drain. And so, in theory, I should put another I/C there ( green rectangle) because rodding points should be provided at all changes of direction. I'd like to avoid putting another I/C there because I'm going to put a rodding point in at the yellow circle. If I were to follow the letter of the recommendations there would be two access chambers and 1 rodding point within 2 meters. Can putting a rodding point in at the yellow circle be seen as sufficient provision for clearing the drainage system?
  22. Nowhere near deep enough to accomodate your collection of rubber duckies.......
  23. .... just made the mistake of getting IFTTT to report when the space station is passing overhead. How those astronauts aren't constantly dizzy I don't know .... Must be like staring out of a train window at the fields rushing by - only on global scale.
  24. The most useful for me so far is the creation of a log of incoming and outgoing phone calls on my Google calendar: it means I can create notes about that conversation in Google Calendar (others calendar listings are available). We have a smart-ish TV: I'll have a poke about with Alexa and that soon. I never thought that simply switching on a light would be come an issue: but after a days' digging - if I collapse in my chair and then after an hour want to switch on a light, well, I need to sing the Halleluja Chorus to mask the swearing.
