  1. I’m not sure that you are gaining much going through a broker You are a third party presenting your financial position will make little difference when it’s forwarded to there head office If he’s getting 4K off the lender You could ask him to wave your contribution I think I’m in the wrong job
  2. I’m doing ours at the moment Ive borrowed a three ton digger The five ton I borrowed for the footings would be much easier Id hire a one tone at the very least a micro would struggle

  6. You only need to tank if it’s a wet room Sealing floor to walls If you have a shower enclosure No need to tank Impi is self adhesive Tile straight on top
  7. Yes we’ve only been using impi for about five years Pretty bombproof
  8. To be fair Impi are correct in saying that if it gets past there tanking It all needs to come off regardless of what board that you have used I use the gypsum backer on most of our jobs Not a great deal of extra expense His loos are costing 6k each All the way from Japan 😂
  9. We are just getting started with tiling on a four million and rising self build The Architect liaison is fine The owner is a smart arse Hes spending all that money and won’t pay for backer or moisture boards in the wet room or pool area changing rooms To my surprise Hes got the Impi rep out Who backed him up and said plain wallboards are fine under there tanking Everydays a school day I’m just firing an email off expressing my concerns Which prompted my post Would anyone on here risk it to save several hundred pounds?
  10. Cut it down Who will know Or care
  11. 👍
  12. Just about 50 mil add one either side
  13. From a running cost point of view Your one year old boiler will beat the HP hands down I’d get the pipe work needed in for a HP and some cables across Which will cost very little Future proofing for when you decide to install a HP
  14. A grands about right reuse most of the tiles
  15. We have been on clay both times and use block and beam The first time We where close to large trees and I totally got it The second time we had bolder clay No trees Just a hedge 10 meters away But still BB I work on sites everyday and it’s rare not to have BB It’s the SE first choice and same as houses 😁
  16. Flexible tile adhesive is perfect for this
  17. I’ve done similar to these before 600x200 leave 4 mil proud Quick sand then paint The bulb fitting is usually magnetic
  18. Is it usually to ask the household income on a none sales survey Im curious Why didn’t you respond to her genuine request Or anyone else for that matter It can’t be just me that was suspicious Its good that you see the world in such a positive manner Just don’t give your bank details out to any cold callers
  19. Of course it is and you really believe this is Genuine ? Reaching out Offering Amazon vouchers 😂😂 We had one recently that was asking the household disposable income At what point would you personally be suspicious
  20. Yes forty years 😁 Its quite a simple system Takes up very little space and has very little contact with the wall This is one of our jobs 30 apartments in the Lake District that the banks pulled the plug on once built and have stood empty for eight years Of course insulation and airtightness levels have tightened in this time So gyplining and insulation boards was the best option
  21. A better option is gypliner with 52 mil insulated plasterboard
  22. Need to stop agreeing with you John It does seem madness to be putting heating on the upper floors of a well insulated house
  23. I’d try it We have the branded helmets that are a couple of hundred quid I think they all do the same thing
