  1. A rule of thumb for PB weight and thickness is 400 centres 12.5 boards 600 15 mil boards MF 1200 grid = single layer PB 800 grid = 2 layers of anything Not a Google technical answer But a rough guide
  2. 10-15 is perfect
  3. Yeah I bought a handful off a guy on eBay West Midlands
  4. Clean shaven for 3M according to HSE Though my lad has a spray shop and that’s all he uses
  5. Most of the sites insist on us using these for cutting and mixing plaster Rechargeable Charge lasts for months Pick them up for about £150
  6. Isn’t google a wonderful thing 😁
  7. It all does the same job Though it’s worth using 600 mil high load dpc on the GF to attach to the screed membrane
  8. I’m doing the plastering framing on a large self build The Ground-worker has just Paid 80k for two 13 tone machines He reckons the industry is a wash with plant Due to government free money over lockdown One of the machines I had on loan was bought with the free cash When it’s not here it’s sat in his yard doing nothing Great time to buy
  9. They where a magnetic both at fixed on to the inside of the window Duration windows Canvey Island
  10. I’ve been doing fire protection quotes for 25 plus years If you follow my original answer Two story No extra fire protection needed Three story Extra needed You won’t go far wrong There only houses Commercial projects are much more complex If your steels need protection It would 100% be marked on the SE drawing Even the size of the pad stones are on there
  11. We had solar blinds at our previous build The boxes arnt that big Two of our five boxes failed after 12 months I wouldn’t have fancied digging them out of the masonry
  12. You can do But you don’t need to 30 minutes standard plasterboard if fine BC don’t always No the regs
  13. I do fireproofing as part of my business We are never asked for any protection for two story homes But once that extra floor is added You will need an hour protection Some insist on the beams being wrapped Then boarded Others are happy to treat them like an integral garage Two layers of fire line board It should really be on the drawing Our last two builds are full of steels supporting the floors No protection needed This is our current build Note no mention of unnecessary fire protection from the SE
  14. If it’s two story the steels don’t need to be fire protected
  15. SBR 3-1 with dry cement mixed in with a drill to a yoghurt thickness
  16. Presuming your over three floors If BC is asking for an hour fire protection You will be ok to just use a single layer of fire check Don’t forget to seal around the perimeter of the room

  18. Regardless of all the sales talk The figures don’t add up We where quoted 11 k with an a saving of around Ā£200-250 per year The buyers of our first build have have covered my beautiful slate roof with PV not a great look Considering our build came under Heritage and we had to match everything to the 500 year old farm Even the chimney pots 17k including two batteries No heat pump yet The salesman has promised a saving of Ā£500 per year Even if the PV wipes out the Ā£960 per year that we were paying Your still 20 years to recoupe the cost That’s if you haven’t replaced one or both the batteries That Mr google says have a lifespan of 12-15 years At least the salesman didn’t promise a break even in 3.9 years 😁
  19. If you are putting PV to save the planet Get at least one battery and as many panels as possible If you are looking to save money Forget the PV As it will take Decades to pay for itself Or buy cheap and self install
