  1. After the plumber has been the latest is ..... It's not the toilet. Infact the plumber said it's not the pipework at all as far as he is concerned. This is all the 'new' bit so it's back to the main contractor now to check outside walls, take skirting off etc.
  2. I had to try a couple of fingers to set it up as it wouldn't register (from sanding woodwork)!
  3. I really have to prevent myself from exploding when I see him because everything he has touched has been sh!t. We still owe him £600 but there is the damaged Roper Rhodes unit to sort (probably a Magic Man task) and now the LVT flooring to be replaced - thank God we over ordered and have a few boxes left as it's a discontinued range and not in stock anywhere. I'm tempted to say we don't have any left and let him get the whole thing redone including the bedroom as the flooring is the same and flows into the bedroom from the ensuite. I'm confident the flooring has been done properly. When we had a leak in another bathroom from the toilet (ensuite) the flooring has been fine but obviously this has been there for some time unnoticed.
  4. It took numerous conversations with Ekey and Internorm themselves visiting today (as we didn't get the door directly from them it was an eBay find) to reset the thing and sort out a dodgy motherboard but it's working! Not bad for our ex showroom door. Note it's not the one with the motorised lock rather this is separate and key operated. We were advised the fingerprint lock is fine on its own but if we were say going on holiday for example to use the manual lock as well as the fingerprint sensor. VID_24370106_231730_800.mp4 A big thanks to @Onoff for the Din rail and advice as the transformer we located close the floor.
  5. Plumber is on his way we isolated it. I have no idea how long this floor has been wet for as it's not a bathroom in regular use and to be honest it was only as dropped something I noticed it. I'll be insisting at least half the floor is taken up and the plumber can be paying for it to be relaid.
  6. Thanks I'll try now just hunting for a longer screwdriver. We don't ordinarily use it anyway but it's probably wise to get it off for now.
  7. ? I'll consider it. I can't reach the isolation valve I can see the bu$$er though. My arm ain't long enough. Is that these holes? Every bloody toilet is missing them if so god only knows why they weren't done and where all the fixings went.
  8. Just the top bit and I've shone a touch and the immediate floor below looks ok.
  9. It's a bungalow. That is the floor and it is gluedown LVT onto a screed. It's now been a good hour since I flushed the toilet and still - here's a better video. VID_20210223_112111.mp4
  10. It's with furniture so the plumber really needs to come and sort it out. Well the plumber can pay for that!
  11. Oh look, another plumbing issue. Went into guess bedroom, was doing some cleaning and flushed some tissue down toilet. Noticed a bit of water went to wipe it up and this...Our LVT is now coming up. Water looks 'muddy' in places. We don't use this bathroom as such but it happens more easily when you flush. Any ideas what could be causing this? We have UFH too. VID_20210223_104834.mp4
  12. I've not looked at DIY kitchens I'll have a looksie and see. Thanks
  13. I don’t like untidy (part of being OCD I am told,) Wife is the same and don't get me started on some of the other things like coat hangers needing to all face the right way.... Same problem x 2. Some of stuff is still scattered across three counties as we didn't get it all back before lockdown....
  14. @joe90 I'm impressed. Firstly by the tidiness of secondly at how little clothes you have! We need to look at the dressing room plans one thing we are not sure about is if we go for the walk in wardrobe is how he is building the divide in between the main room and the walk in wardrobe bit - we don't have a stud wall. The price was cheaper than Sharps and similar to DIY Homefit but we are getting something more specific to fit our exact measurements.
  15. Prior to lockdown - we both were required to go into an office. And then we are two women so have lots clothes anyway plus hair, makeup etc items. I think we could dedicate a whole wardrobe space to sports and hiking gear! I think it will be rare I return to an office again so I can definitely scale down. You'd think as we are the same size we should have half of what we have! Currently I just seem to wear more PJs than anything!
  16. Bear in mind this is current state of said dressing room
  17. Dare you post pictures of this tidy set up?
  18. It's my worst nightmare having it open. This is what my wife thinks it will look like: I think it will look like this:
  19. Yep, and that won't happen until the weather stabilises and we can get it rendered at which point it will be spring and the weather will be warmer anyway - typical. I'm hoping the insulation has a significant impact! Other things like blinds/curtains in some rooms will also help (we have nothing at the moment)!
  20. I don't believe there is a second immersion.
  21. Another week.... Big difference this week. After a 'worse consumption ever' weekend on 13/14 Feb for the heat pump with minus temperatures and a bitter wind the 24 hr period from last Friday afternoon to the Saturday was a whopping 80 units for the heat pump. Monday - Friday this week has been so much better as soon as figures came out of freezing we also experienced our 'lowest consumption ever' in a 24 hour period - only 18 units for the heat pump. Average has been 26 units Monday - Friday this week With the electricity monitor I'm pretty content with our 'other' electricity use which averages at 7kWh a day. The coffee machine isn't too electricity friendly and the hob has an engineers visit next week as there is an issue (which may also explain the slightly high consumption when this gets turned on).
  22. The space for our dressing room is 4400*3610 (239 height) which is accessed via pocket doors from the main bedroom. The wife is keen for a walk in wardrobe but thought of a completely open walk in wardrobe horrifies me! Lets be honest any pictures you see of walk in wardrobe are of matching clothes normally shades of cream and pink with amazing organization that in no way reflects real life! The compromise was to have the walk in wardrobe split so it has an open entry and open hanging/shelves but so the open space of the wardrobe isn't visible as you walk in the room. The rest of the room we then want as dressing/make up with a window seat/storage cupboards below (one wall will have a wall mounted TV). We have spent quite a few weeks now playing with the Ikea design planner as well as DIYHomefit and similar sites to get a rough idea of prices and also then accounting for the fact we would need to get a joiner to hack things in and they don't quite do exactly what we want. We have also have had a few bespoke local trades out who specialise in furniture. One local company did a rough plan and although this needs some changes (we don't want all those cubes inside rather just shelves for shoes, folded items etc) and we want storage either side of the walk in wardrobe and perhaps more hanging space rather than drawers. Any thoughts? The price we had included spraying in a painter finish and mrmdf material.
  23. Just waiting for changeover to Octopus for us on 26 February. Then we have to wait up to two weeks before we can change on to Octopus Go/Go Faster. Agile I don't think will suit us.
  24. Emmeti CS17 Thermostats are what we have throughout.
  25. I Don't think so, when the disenfectent cycle was programmed on the heat pump the immersion use (on the immersion meter) went up significantly.
