Can a Raspberry Pi run android software
dogman replied to dogman's topic in Networks, AV, Security & Automation
Thanks @JSHarris and @PeterW for the ideas. Not to worried about it being a RPi so will look at others. The £50 per tv is a lot cheaper than a 1x4 Hdmi matrix that i was looking at. -
bet it can't lay 200 yr old stocks in flemish bond

Can a Raspberry Pi run android software
dogman replied to dogman's topic in Networks, AV, Security & Automation
@PeterW I already have a Hikvision recorder that currently uses a av modulator to route signals to tv's around the house. However there is no control so i tend to IVMs 4200 software on my laptop to view cctv. I have a HD version of IVMS on a tablet that works well and gives control. What i want to do is be able to turn on the tv and be able to view live cctv and have control of the ptz cameras. The hikvision has a remote control and i was looking at using a Hdmi matrix to do this as they have an IR loop through. I don't think i will be able to justify the cost of the matrix any more. IVMS takes ages to bootup on my i5 laptop so is not ideal unless its left running. The android version is a lot quicker to boot -
Can a Raspberry Pi run android software
dogman posted a topic in Networks, AV, Security & Automation
I am holding my hands up. I know nothing about Pi's As many on here do i was wondering if my latest crazy idea will work. I started a couple of threads about my planned network and possible Hdmi matrix (now outside my budget) but still need to address how i get the cctv pictures around the house on the various tv's. My Hikvision DVR/NVR has android software that works really well (IVMS 4500) and i was thinking that if i could get a Raspberry pi to run the software and output the picture Via Hdmi i could run one on each TV. I am not sure if i could run them continuously and if having three running would impact the network. Would need some sort of Mouse/ keyboard/ir remote control Before i spend ages reading up on Pi's is it possible -
won't a concrete lintel show. i have the above but not catnic,

I think this is what this does. there is another manual version that has a slider Off/Heat/Cool

While looking at options for my heating/cooling system i came across a dual thermostat. http://www.honeywellstore.com/store/products/7-day-programmable-touch-screen-thermostat-rth7600d.htm Its american and i don't know if you can actually get them or even if it will work. I need to look at it in more detail, and try to work out how the american programmers are configured but it may work with the sort of system design others have used on this forum where two thermostats are used. Has anyone else looked at theses or similar products and figured out if they will work.

I used Kytun as well. You can buy direct or as i did through an on line re seller best price i found after delivery was Roofing superstore. However if you are in NI you might be able to save on delivery There are two thickness's depending on slates> my slates were half way between the two sizes so i bought the larger size which was okay

Seem to remember our parish council bought one for some eco club to test local houses will see if i can get them to come round and check

so did ours they said Argon gas. When pointed out they were removed and went missing but i did get photos. The company were challenged and confirmed again in writing they had Krypton and the stickers are the standard stickers as they don't have krypton labels in the factory. If i can prove there is no coating then i have them over a barrel. To be honest if that's the case it amounts to a deliberate deception so will go to trading standards, and seek a prosecution.

These are the new units markings And these are the old units The marks are on the outer pane of glass
-
So, the new glazing panels turned up today. 7 large triple glazed panels for the sliders. I knew it would not go well ( i expect it )and one was broken whist being transported. We had agreed soft coat x2 toughened and laminated solar reflective outer pane with krypton Trouble is how do you tell if we are being conned. They have put it in writing but there is nothing to say its either Krypton or solar reflective glass. In fact the glass they took away was exactly the same. Ok it is sort of reflective when stood outside but the glass looks the same as the glass doors and fixed pane windows. It even has a number printed on it that is exactly the same as the number on the glass taken away( we took photos) Anyone got solar glass and does it have any identification on it?

No not Internorm. I am keeping quiet until sorted as it may end up in court if not sorted. Sounds like your delay is the same as ours. Can any window company get it right.
-
Ok, so a month later and the windows are still not sorted. Will update when they do get sorted but to be honest its been one of the most frustrating and unbelievable periods of the build. We have no glass in the 3 sliders which should be with us Friday, if not its another three weeks due to factory shut down. MBC have been absolute stars about it all, and have agreed that we can start the brickwork on the single storey utility room before the air test and insulation. Due to the cost of the window delay (all ready at over £6000 for rental costs etc for the 8 week delay ) i have had to make some cutbacks. one is doing thhe brickwork myself. Considering the bricks are over 200 years old i think it looks good for a complete novice. We had to compromise on the flint blocks but they look sort of okay. I cannot brick up tp the door yet as it has been put in wrong.

I am happy that his attempt was a crime and that it should be recorded as such. To wait would have risked a couple of hundred pounds worth of laser at the best being damaged. There is a bit of legislation that allows me to challenge the local police over their actions Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Act 2004 introduced the victims charter which gives a victim extra protection and rights if they are "a persistently targeted victim" The CCTV from yesterday was from my old cameras so yesterday i fitted one of the new 4mp ptz cameras that gives a much better picture. -

Our planners did not want a high fence at the front, however i would have liked a 2m high iron railings and brick columns, fence and gates. I report every incursion so have evidence to justify an application on crime prevention grounds.( if that's a reason?) Good thing is we know they are there and i am happy to confront them, but its frustrating that 14 weeks on the house is not secure due to the windows not being fitted correctly so we cannot risk buying in any equipment. -
@SunampBlogger Pre-heat or not to pre-heat that is my question. I will have a small buffer vessel on my underfloor heating system. Water is from a bore hole so constant 6--7 deg temp. Do I use an indirect cylinder is stainless steel and use the coil as a pre-heat (or a dedicated heat exchanger and pump as others have done) Andrew said it was not needed but my head tells me it would give me more capacity (two in parallel) I could even use the immersion in the tank from the second output of my immersun when the SunAmps are charged

I do have some insight into why they are so bad and its not that they have been subject to cuts. A lot to do with who they now recruit, and that they now focus so much on risk and social services type work crime takes a back seat -

You can see him start to pick up the level when he saw me running towards him. According to Thames Valley Police this is not an offence. So you can enter a property as a trespasser damaging the gates, remove a bag on top of a laser level that was keeping it dry and go to pick it up, make off when challenged and drive off at speed. They are then given the index number, colour and type of car, as well as CCTV showing this from three different angles. Good description and colour of his clothing etc The car will have triggered the ANPR half a mile down the road. My law is not that rusty and it is an attempt theft as their actions are more than preparatory. Police not interested, and will not visit End of August i will be seeing the Police and Crime commissioner at a party. Guess what i will be speaking to him about -
