  1. Lots of male masseurs of course but I’ve never seen a male manicurist. I always like the idea of a male hairdresser as I think it demonstrates a career choice rather than something all your friends are doing. Probably wrong of course lol.
  2. On a serious note this is a concern. Nails are hard to glue without sticking your other hand to it as you need to put a bit on pressure on it until it bonds. Then there was the time that my manicurist was mending a nail break for me, didn’t realise she had dabbed glue on her own hand and stuck her hand to mine lol. Life is short. Always sparkle ??
  3. So how near to the boundary of your plot is your proposed extension? If the part nearest the boundary is less than 2 metres away the eaves cannot be more than 3M (the edge of the roof overhanging the wall), and the highest part of the roof cannot be more than 4M. If you don't need PP then it simplifies things as you will only need details for building control and as @Temp said above they may work with you and allow a building notice. It you need PP, even amended PP you will need a decent set of plans. I'm assuming you aren't detached? If you aren't there is a strong likelihood that your extension will be within 2M of your boundary I imagine. Is it on the back or side? As I said if you can post a sketch of your proposed plan here it will be easier to advise. Just a freehand sketch would do for now.
  4. There are rules here. You just have to check what you want to do against permitted development rights. Have a look at the link, sketch up what you want to do and post it here for others to advise you. https://www.planningportal.co.uk/wales_en/info/2/do_you_need_permission
  5. You've used 5 in 10 years?! Not big on nail repairs then?
  6. No shit huh!! What manicures do you do? Shellac? Acrylic? Gel?
  7. Yes the brush makes it much easier. The tubes are god awful things. Press it and nothing comes out, press it again and it goes everywhere!
  8. Blimey seems very industrial compared to what I want it for
  9. Thanks. They’re not fake nails they are my own but sometimes the edge of the Shellac polish lifts up round the edge and I have to repair it until I can get to have them redone. I can still do it sort of like that though I think Assume if you don’t use the activator it still dries eventually?
  10. So how does the 2 part stuff work? Put the glue on, stick the item together then spray the stuff? Or spray it before you press together? Can see that working for normal diy stuff but can’t see it working on nails tbh ? . Would like some to be multi purpose if possible and ideally I’d like one that dries clear or worst case opaque. Can’t have yellow smoker’s nails! And @Onoff ‘claggy’ will forever be tainted now!
  11. Thanks! This is the one with the brush (and you can see what it’s for ) that’s gone claggy. It’s just cyanoacrylate too but more expensive than superglue so I’ve started buying the tubes. Seems it’s a waste of money to buy the branded tubes then and I may as well go to the pound shop. Cheers, will try the fridge. Is Mitre bond exactly the same and dries opaque(ish)?
  12. Is Superglue designed to be a one use product? Every time I use it I try to carefully remove all traces of glue before I put the cap back on but invariably it sticks and I can't get it off again without cutting it off or if I get the cap off cleanly the glue has set down the spout leaving me trying to stick a pin or whatever in there to open it up again. I give up half the time, reopen it from the other end and then bin it. Hints and tips please, or should I just ensure that I have several packs to hand. I have some in a bottle with a brush that seems a bit better but in this weather it's gone too thick to use effectively even with the lid screwed on tight.
  13. your scream was much less sweary than mine would have been! What an utter debacle
  14. Yep you are going to have to paint the doors with a wood worktop. Cream sounds good. Just do it with the right prep and paint.
  15. Well they might care more now that the courts are involved. Fingers crossed anyway.
  16. Well I have to say that has never crossed my mind and nor has it ever happened! Might I suggest that you invest in some of these . Free sample in the link https://www.tena.co.uk/men/products/free-sample?ppc=0&gclid=Cj0KCQjwpcLZBRCnARIsAMPBgF3iv8gKWStbqU_M793b751gvl_q6YrD84AEk6XTYP5GBjN90fW0D3MaAtt1EALw_wcB
  17. Ha ha, they REALLY didn’t want to have to deal with you again. You can hear it now “for Christ sake just put the extra kit in so he doesn’t darken our door again” Seriously, I’m glad it’s turned up and hope you get it working without too much effort. And good news re getting shot of the other one!
  18. The compromise will probably be that they return some money. I assume you have ordered from elsewhere so an offer of a cost price deal won’t be of interest to you? It may help if you can find out what the mark up is on this type of window. Supplier should not be profiting from the mistake IMO.
  19. I thought it went off in a few months? That stash has been there since Jan 2015 I think as I didn’t put it there and it appears to be left over from a party we had and is all the stuff the hubby didn’t like to drink. Must be dead if it’s 3.5 years old surely?
  20. It possibly depends on whether the companies use a web service for the lookup. Those that don’t require an implementation slot to take the database. I ‘may’ know of a system that hadn’t been updated for a few years . Not a customer facing one but even so ....
  21. I saw those the other day and thought they looked interesting. I also saw that my old website domain was available again. Hubby ‘forgot’ ? to renew it (there was a reason why I did all admin ) and some barsteward company bought it and wanted mega bucks to buy it back. It wasn’t a commercial site so it wasn’t worth the sort of money they wanted. Damn annoying though! I can see most of the content on Wayback so I could ressurect it one day. Note to everyone. DO NOT MISS YOUR DOMAIN EXPIRY DATE! As you rightly say I can have .uk and .co.uk as .co.uk etc. aren’t taken. Postcode lookup software is marketed through several different companies so although the LA agrees the address (name, number) and Royal Mail allocates postcodes and areas, the companies that market postcode software will update to a set schedule I imagine and even then it depends whether the company that purchased from that company takes regular updates. If they don’t it will be wrong forever. Ironically Royal Mail knows my address via its postcode lookup but then fails the next step as their own system doesn’t allow a house with no road name and mine doesn’t have one so I have to enter something in that field so that I can continue ?. So if the companies in question don’t take updates for their postcode lookup software your old house name is there forever! Sorry.
  22. I’ve only been here 4 months! Not well acquainted with everyone’s bogs and blogs
  23. How does tiling = boxing in? I think @Onoff should rename the boxing in thread every time he moves onto a new phase, and then once complete it can be the trials and tribulations of a bathroom restoration (or something) And then he could edit the first post to link to the different phases (or out to one of the spur threads) so people could quickly jump to the section that might be relevant to them
  24. I bloody bought mine from Amazon!
