    That is exactly my point. I do not know. I understand not using any imported energy, and I can assume that consumption is 10 kWh, but is that a day, a week, or for the whole month.

    Thiyse figured are meaningless, or wrong. What is the time period, second (in the case ift kW) or month (in the case of kWh). 50%+ if the time I have no consumption, measured at the Wh (3600J) level.

    There is a similar problem with composite plastics. Many a time I have heard 'we added loads of hardener and it went off (hardened) just fine'. This is a real problem when doing flat roofs as the pigments change the depth that UV radiation can penetrate. So you can end up with a partially cured base layer, with excess liquid or gaseous styrene monomer trapped in it, but a fully cured top layer.

    They are not brave enough to take on the independent roasters down here. Wish they were, when I see a 'Cornish Coffee' sign outside cafe, I walk away fast.

    If I was there, first trips would be to Fort William or Inverness. They seem to be the closest Costa Coffees.

    Wind power follows a weibull distribution. Plugin the mean windspeed and adjust the skew to your local topology. Small turbines can be noisy, especially from the stay cabling.     What is needed is a PHEV with a 6 kW PTO and 30 kWh of usable storage. A thermal PTO may be useful as well. Better get my pencils out and use my 40 year old degree in automotive engineering to save the world.

    Not the same sand they are using as a thermal store. Nord Stream 1 has not been turned on. Doubt it will.

    That is good, can use both sides. Not by much, maybe 0.5% a year, and that is probably down to better manufacturing that chemistry. There is a theoretical limit to what basic silicon can deliver, think it is 29%. So not worth delaying installation. Is there a decent stream on the grounds?

    How many MWhs did they buy, and how does it compare in price to all the extra PV generation. Small part of a big story.
