bissoejosh Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Laying my water main - 32mm 100m coil. Got within 10m of the end of the trench and yep it kinks good and proper, looks knackered to me. Solutions greatly appreciated as I'm backfilling tomorrow! Is a join below ground a disaster waiting to happen? Many thanks in advance!
ProDave Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Simple in line coupler should sort it, no problem with that being under ground. 1
PeterW Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 As @ProDave said - in-line coupler. Don’t be tempted to over tighten it though. Should be able to get one with a couple of inserts from most merchants. 1
bissoejosh Posted April 4, 2019 Author Posted April 4, 2019 Thanks @ProDave @PeterW. I'll make sure I mark the spot exactly should any leaks be detected once it's connected.
Oz07 Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Had this exact scenario happen to me and had to dig up as main was dropping pressure. Swapped coupler for one of those multi ones with teeth and rubber o ring was fine afterwards

Big Jimbo Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 You will be fine with a coupler, however, swearing at it may also help.
