Gate Pillars

A stainless steel, 10mm plate, this for mounting my gate motor.

The thin galvanised one that came with it offended me and has bloody great holes for slugs etc to get up inside. It'll slip over the 3" drainpipe all the cables and ducts are in. It'll also support the cast motor frame over it's whole area. Drilling the 70mm hole was fun.

TPU grommets for my gate photocells, just to keep the creepy crawlies out. The one a couple of inches along was an oversize trial:

Again for the photocell wiring, revisiting the WAGO holders in light grey PLA. A 3/3/3:

For the 8-way FAKO though, the WAGO holder model needs tweaking. This one's a bit loose:

The 8-way FAKO is still a tad looser than I'd like it to be, but it'll do. Got a 12mm wide strip above, for a label:

Love the clip, useful all over the place. Would a couple of counterbored holes in the top bar add the ability to screw the clips down when needed.

Can do holes easily. The clip with the two on, in the last picture will just be 3M double sided taped or CT1'd to the RH side wall of the plastic enclosure.

I like to keep all the penetrations in the bottom.

Great panel - then put some pilot holes in the bottom so they can be fixed down from underneath.

No good, the "plate" with the two connectors on is going halfway up the enclosure side.

All will be revealed soon...my soon! 😂

Like the ferrules in the panels- quality.

One must maintain standards dear boy! 😂

My habit of stripping the wire, dipping in silicone grease and only then crimping the ferrule (or crimp) on, wins me no favours though.

Extra mark if the cable markers are not clip on!

Not the most weather proof of things, these photocells. I'm wondering if giving both sides of the PCB a spray with some conformal coating / laquer will help prolong their life?

Minus point for the terminals not having corresponding numbers as the conductors.😀

When I find them I'll put them on! 😂

There's no "13" either...can't remember why...must consult the book of fag packet sketches...
