Robot mower recommendations?

Hi all,

 

Looking for robot mower recommendations.  We have a relatively flat and open 1/2 acre (2000m2) grass paddock into which Mrs P. has dotted 15 or so trees.   I can't be doing with a ride-on mower - had one in the last house and it just becomes a chore.  So we are looking to buy a decent robot mower.

 

Currently I'm thinking an appropriately sized model from Segway, Stiga or Husqvarna.  Does anyone have any experience, good or bad?

 

There are plenty of YouTube reviews but I don't feel I can trust them as most seem to be funded by the manufacturers.  Ideally, I could do with a garden / landscaping site as geeky as this one, but I can't find RobotMowerHub.org.uk.  Again, if anyone knows a good site?

 

First World problem I know but...

I had one in 2012, was great for around 5 years, the gremlins started, replaced bit after bit as each one started to fail, then more expensive bits started to fail and then I chucked it to the recycling centre.

 

2000m² will need a good battery capacity, get one that is self guided doesn't need a wire guide around the lawn.

Ive got a pair of Kress mowers bought in last years grand 70% off sale.

 

Between them they cover circa 2.5 acres, 2/3rds of that is a fairly rough field.

 

Hardware is great, customer support, great. They updated the app last month. Now utter garbage. Was fine before.

 

Hopefully they will sort out the app.

 

Their business model is 100% via dealers. So if you are an IT numpty like me, thats a result. But comes at a cost V cheap chinese ones, where you are the support. 

 

Pic here of the first cut of the field. The main reason for getting them, is its simply too waterlogged to get and machinery on it until late may. 2 years ago it was still so soft in August i buried the tractor up to its axles in mud! The mowers are quite happy as they are light.

Husqvarna is you just want the job done without any fuss, and no next gen tech, and good warranty, customer service etc... But ££££. 

 

mamotion luba types are the opposite option, high tech, more advanced, in theory probably better... But chinese and relatively young to market. But ££

Got no personal experience, but was helping a friend research some of these and he was quite taken with the Mammotion Luba 3.  There's loads of YouTubers posting about them.  Seem to be pretty good at least short term - not been out long enough to know how they'll last.
