scottishjohn Posted Friday at 08:38 Posted Friday at 08:38 (edited) anybody know of any and costs for submitting a vat reclaim Edited Friday at 08:39 by scottishjohn
LnP Posted Friday at 11:15 Posted Friday at 11:15 (edited) I've not got to that point yet. I agree it looks easy to do yourself, but if you're looking for help, Andrew Jones https://www.vat431.co.uk . He might help you find things you can claim which you might have missed. Or he might help you avoid claiming things you can't claim and getting it rejected. Give him a call and discuss your situation. He's very helpful. He has a sliding scale of charges depending on how much the claim is. Edited Friday at 11:16 by LnP 1
nod Posted Friday at 11:37 Posted Friday at 11:37 If you claim everything that you have claimed vat on They-will exclude anything that isn’t eligible As above its very simple to put the claim in All be it a bit time consuming We enquired when we finished our previous built 6 years ago It seemed to be around a thousand to claim back 33k Weve just claimed back 43k Just one item rejected four fixed mirrors 1

A few on here have used him, with good feedback from memory. In at least a couple of cases, the BH member successfully claimed back additional items worth more than the cost of the VAT reclaim service, due to additional items Andrew's team identified that the BH member hadn't considered. 2
Andehh Posted Saturday at 06:01 Posted Saturday at 06:01 The process and website for doing the VAT reclaim was refreshingly simple. I was actually really impressed with the whole process on the UKGOV website. UKGOV website had one long alphabetical list of what you can claim, and what you can't. Also has an easy access portal to upload, with decent instructions. Download/scan all invoices , title them one at a time ie... #1 LED BULBS BULBSTORE, #2 timber TIMBERSTORE etc Make an excel list of them all, as you go through pulling out the required details from each invoice ... Ie BULBSTORE, vat number, claimable items, vat amount, totally amount etc into columns. Upload them one line item at a time, and pull out the required info from your excel sheet. Submit, and they ask for c 30% of the invoices to cross check, and upload them from your folder. Very good system!
