CalvinHobbes Posted yesterday at 05:36 Posted yesterday at 05:36 Not mine but these are being installed in a family member's home...
CalvinHobbes Posted yesterday at 07:59 Author Posted yesterday at 07:59 thanks, the lady is a senior and a widow, I thought they were awful but I am worried for her.
JohnMo Posted yesterday at 08:04 Posted yesterday at 08:04 Really depends what was asked for? Easy access to top of grass they work. Plant some shrubs to either side would soften the look, not really seeing an issue? 1
ProDave Posted yesterday at 08:05 Posted yesterday at 08:05 What was asked for and agreed? They are functional if not pretty. Of course the devil is in the detail that you can't see, what base has been laid under the grass to support them?
jack Posted yesterday at 08:07 Posted yesterday at 08:07 They look okay to me. The only issue I have is the lack of edging/boundary between the edges and the adjacent grass. The edges will quickly become untidy unless regularly maintained.
ProDave Posted yesterday at 08:14 Posted yesterday at 08:14 I assume some sort of hand rails are still to be fitted? There is one lone wooden post in place at the moment suggesting that might be the case. I would have made them less wide, but perhaps they are that wide to allow an infirm person to use them with a helper with them? Agreed about the lack of edging, the grass will quickly encroach on the steps.
torre Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Take a look at https://www.pavingexpert.com/featur01 for a good level of detail and best practise. There may not be a lot underneath these and over time there'll be movement.
Mr Punter Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago The rise and going look consistent and easy for outside steps. There should be a handrail both sides.
