Following this link https://www.juliancassell.com/2564/fitting-a-door-lining provided by @MortarThePoint in another post I have fitted my first door lining (of 14). Rather pleased with the result.

Hopefully the remainder will be as successful

Were the linings a kit or did you make the linings yourself?

I have some stupidly thick walls I will need to make my own linings for using 25mm MDF.

You can get them cut to the width you want and edge banded to save loads of time on painting.

or look at Todd doors I’ve used their ones different widths for thick walls, can’t remember the sizes but I have 125studs with 11mm osb both sides and 15mm plasterboard.

If you need to borrow a pukka Milwanky router / hinge jig kit for when you go to do the doors and linings just PM me, and all you'll need to cover is just the P&P both ways if so. Router / batteries etc all in the kit too, so plug 'n play ;)

I’m a sucker for new stuff so I already have hinge jig and door stand etc. my router will also do the hinges but I think it doesn’t plunge enough to do the latch but I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it!

very kind of you to offer though. I’m sure I’ll be posting nearer the time for more advice on it all though.

You need my clamps aswell ! . They are for door linings - makes it much easier to get them level in all axis .

I think no one gets these .

I did 6 door linings with them .

1 at top on each side and one at bottom . Go between the lining and the wall . Allows you to move the lining in all directions to get it perfect . Then I foam around the lining - making sure to protect the clamps so I can remove them .

They take a bit of getting use to but make it far simpler and allow you to get it level in all directions so all your doors close nice 😊

Of course . These are much easier . Effectively acting like packers but you can adjust as you level the frame . Much easier with these .
