Was showing lower than this when I drove into work.

I don't live down here for this sort of thing.

Makes this more concerning

Last hottest ten years on record have been, the last ten years.

Lightweights.  -2 is nothing.  That's about the forecast high here for the next few days.

Shortly I am off to defrost and sweep the snow off the truck then off for a very cold day trying to recover a stricken yacht off the beach.

We got Prince William to do that for us.

And the salvage rights go to.....

Stay with the owner who was present and on board the yacht when re floated.  Just a bunch of fellow sailors helping out, and hope we would similarly be helped if we were in a spot of bother.

Boat re floated

It was cold, but I knew the house was well insulated (no heating yet) when I walked into this morning to start work and my glasses steamed up

We have this every time we go out to the shed and back in again!

But do you get hiccups when you go from a warm, humid environment to a cold dry one (I know why it happens).

I do, as does a workmate (who had a great fit of it today).

Just had a look on Nullschool.

Air temp is 6.3°C, sea surface temperature is 11.5°C.  We should be pumping seawater as a thermal source for water source heat pumps.

Started snowing here at 6pm but don’t think we will get any more.Bristol airport suspending flights and several crashes on M4 and other roads nearby, due to turn to rain later in the night. My mate is in .Canada and they would laugh at our .”little dusting”.

We haven't had any snow but have had 43mm rain in the last 24 hours. It was 13C when I woke up this morning! My youngest daughter lives in Calgary where the forecast maximum temperature today is -10C. It got down to -30C last year.

I was going to go out yesterday afternoon.

Did not bother.

Lightweights.  We have had snow for over a week, hardly worth a mention, -5 last night and won't go above 0 for the rest of the week.  and not a breath of wind, but the sun is out. But not enough strength in the sun to do much thawing.

Felt really pleasant going out today. Mild breeze was a pleasant change from the recent cold. Shame it can't last.

Yesterday the daytime high here was -5C  Next few nights are going to be cold, -20 mentioned as a possibility.  Nowhere near that cold yet.  I expect when I take my Friday meter readings this might be the coldest week of the year.  But toasty warm inside with the stove burning nicely giving the ASHP a rest (not that it needs one)

God, that's grim. Mind you it's pleasantly warm compared to the temperatures in Calgary recently. I don't know how my daughter puts up with it, but she doesn't mind, that's youth for you.
