Depth of Hearth in front of Wood Burning Stove

Hi,

 

Bit confused about the required depth of the hearth in front of the log burner. There are two diagrams in Part J and I'm not sure which one to follow. It will be in a 'fake' chimney breast which is 420mm deep. Any help much appreciated. Thanks

It's quite clear, the hearth in all cases should extend at least 225mm in front of the stove for a closed appliance (which I assume this is)

 

How deep it is overall depends on the dimensions of the stove and how close it can go to surrounding walls.

I’ve just done ours and come out 400 from the skirtings

Its not clear to me unfortunately!

 

What is the meaning of this bit where it says 500mm

Our previous hearth came out half the distance of this one Around 200 Which was suppled and installed by the stove shop and Hettas certified by them 

So the diagrams probably just a guide 

BC will only be interested in the cert
