Shower/ bathroom boards.

What’s everyone thoughts on boards for walls  in a shower / bathroom. 
 

a third of the room will be a walk in shower, then the rest plastered and painted. 
 

I would like a good modern solution for the shower area, then be able to skim the remaining walls ready to paint.

Wedi type boards are lightweight and easy to use.

Personally I think they look a little cheap. A fully tiled bathroom just looks better to me.

Did them in a couple of rentals, never really thought they were that good. Prefer a good old tile. Decent choice of tile, good ventilation (ensures grout looks good for years), equals nice bathroom

Had them in several rentals and now in the present house, never had a problem as long as you use a GOOD make.  Mine are all multipanel.

 

I was at a rental the other day where the top coating was starting to flake off, I don't know what make they were unfortunately so I can't tell you which to avoid.
