Thilo
Hello everybody. I am an independent craftsman and stock many of my tools in my transporter. So the floor is naturally stressed. So I had considered covering the floor with a robust covering. Only I do not know which material is best. A seller offers Nordic birch [commercial link removed]. What do you think? Do you have other ideas? Thanks for your help. Edited August 28, 2017 by Crofter commercial link removed
Crofter
Hi Thilo, I hope you get some good suggestions. As per the forum T&Cs I've removed the specific link from your post, but hopefully we will get a wide range of suggestions from our users.
Onoff
Buffalo board and make your own.
ToughButterCup
Hey @Onoff, I'd never heard of Gruffalo Board before. That's some stuff innit? Price to match too. Well, @Thilo, if you're a good enough welder ('Shume shay I'm a Welding God' not bragging or anything) you could weld a bit of chequer plate in the right places..... maybe?
SteamyTea
Chipboard covered in rubber. Or plywood covered in GRP.
jamiehamy
Ply. It's what virtually every van in the country is lined with!
Onoff
I did my old Bedford Midi in ply. Still got the nut & bolt "rack" I made, all shaped to the side panel.
joe90
I have done both my last vans in 1/2inch ply with carpet underlay underneath to quiet the van down, last one had old carpet tiles as well for non slip finish (posh as well).
daiking
Maybe thilo means a different sort of transporter and he needs to put a false bottom in the boot of his 7-series. Or ask that other spammer chap how he could put a hot tub in his van.
Thilo
Thank you very much for your answers. Then it will be plywood. This is also significantly cheaper. I'm sorry with the link. I did not know that I mustn´t post it. I did not want to advertise.
Crofter
Glad it's been a useful discussion. Don't take it personally... we just have to be a little cautious with new users... don't want the place to turn into a free billboard
