Just thought I’d post this as it crops up as a question regularly

I knocked the block work out around the five openings today

Is that Dpm covering the cavity in the top right corner?

Yes it’s curled behind the up stand

In any case it’s all below dpc

There will be an apron of dpc around the perimeter taped to the high load damp course Then two more membranes No chance of anything coming through D9D813F1-B591-4D33-8DD2-91AB8B0225AE.thumb.jpeg.c360db1c79739a0221e9717e099984bc.jpeg

What's taking the weight of the door? Is it resting on the outer leaf?

I leave the blockwork out when building up to these openings. Tidy job Nod.

that'd be a good trick with check reveals

That's not apples for apples is is? I think @nod was referring to the instance that we see before us, and in that scenario most prefer to go out as far as is practicable.

I think most brick & block layers like to string the line through an block through, the same way TF co's and chippy's will leave footers of stud frames fly through the bottoms of each doorway, and then cut them out retrospectively. Pennies in the grand scheme, but pays dividends in getting stuff nice and straight / plumb etc.

this is how im doing ours to climate the massive cold bridging issue, albeit with permiter upstand as well. Using marmox as the outer skin as they wont be seen (level threshold).
