markharro Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 This will be for MVHR ducts through ext wall. I was thinking a jigsaw would be the simplest option?
Onoff Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 Hole saw? https://www.rennietool.co.uk/products/hss-m35-cobalt-bi-metal-holesaws
saveasteading Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 Def worth using a hole saw. Neat and quick.
markc Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 Another for holesaw. Don’t get one of the cheap trepanning cutters (bar with one or two cutters you can adjust)
markharro Posted January 28, 2023 Author Posted January 28, 2023 It does indeed - check the useful link above.... 1

Thorfun Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 For the cost of the hole saw I’d be using a jigsaw. In fact, that exactly what I did and it all worked out well!

markharro Posted January 29, 2023 Author Posted January 29, 2023 Well I'm the proud owner of a padsaw and jigsaw so all of this is opening up endless possibilities...dont begrudge the cost of proper tools but I'm tending to agree with @Thorfunthat jigsaw with fine blade is the way forward. Another question however - cutting one hole in either the internal or ext OSB will be easy - but how best to cut the matching one so it mates properly in the horizontal and vertical planes?

dpmiller Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 long drill bit, even a masonry one will get through 10mm of OSB.
