Adsibob
I have an Amazon prime account, so normally get my stuff from there. But was slightly horrified to see that a Euro to UK adaptor costs £10 including so called “free” delivery. Given screwfix do a UK to Euro one for 2.99, it shouldn’t cost any more than this. Unfortunately screwfix does not do a Euro to UK, just the inverse. Any ideas?
Conor
Try Argos, use them a lot more than Amazon these days, not much difference in price and we can normally collect same day from our local Sainsbury's.

S2D2
https://cpc.farnell.com/search?st=Euro to uk adaptor Free delivery needs a spend of £17.50 though so no good for one off very cheap items.
pilgrim
Do you need to keep the euro plug on? can you re wire it with a uk plug?
Ferdinand
TLC Direct can be good, especially if you are near a store. https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/

Apparently you say bye bye to any kind of warranty if you do this esp as almost all nowadays are moulded and have to be cut off. Hence our mvhr is plugged in via an adapter rather than removing the plug.
dpmiller
got to be careful with those adaptors tho, they're not good at higher currents and I've seen the odd one that the earth tang doesn't contact the plug "as delivered", needing an bit of a bend to fit safely. Nickfromwales
Read the MI’s…. If it doesn’t state that removing the shart euro plug will invalidate the warranty then doing so cannot be enforceable.

pilgrim
well if it is just a trial you can get a euro plug to fit in a uk socket, once you've safely used something to open the earth pin gate! But that is obviously not a sensible idea.... 🤫 My black and decker mouse sander (and some other cheaper electronics) came with a euro plug and the euro to uk adapter as standard in the box. you dont have anything like that lying around that you've forgotten about and never unplugged since you bought it do you?
Temp
AO offered best price last time we bought a freezer. They can deliver at weekends as well. Think they also took away our old broken one but check if that matters as I can't remember for sure.
