Airtight test damages door?

My contractor tells me his airtight test guy wont test a house with a door from Rational , something to do with the way the door is made and it might damage the doorframe?

 

Anyone else hear of a problem like that?

 

Anyone know of a solution that will avoid that?

 

Happy to hear from anyone who could an airtight test safely in Cornwall.

I wouldn’t think the door type would make any difference

I’m guessing this contractor thinks you blow the house up like a balloon.

the sticky tape might do some damage tho

If the scope is for the contractor to complete, ask him how he intends to complete the scope.  If its not his scope get someone else.

I had an airtest with a rationel door...not sure why there is an issue?

Very odd.  Loads of blower door tests are set up with Rationel.

Yup. I know of at least 2, with another one coming up in 6-8 weeks. 
A good blower team will ( should ) have a frame which goes into an opening which has no door in it yet, so they should be able to do this with a bit of ingenuity?

2” PVC electrical tape can be applied first, then AT tape onto that. There’s loads of ways to do this and mitigate against damages etc.
