Looking for anything specific?  I've had some good hedging and small trees bought on-line at good prices from Beechwood Nurseries (3fatpigs.co.uk), and had a couple of hundred lavender plants from various places.  Bigger trees from treescapenursery.co.uk, but delivery will probably kill it for you.  Good to buy local if you can; it's surprising what you can get at wholesale prices if there are growers in your neck of the woods.

It's been a few years (10), but I purchased about 200 ish laurels from beechwood, via ebay at the time, all bare rooted.  No problems whatsoever.  I just heeled them into the vege patch in bundles when they arrived, and transplanted them when time allowed.

Burncoose Nurseries in Cornwall

Can call in at MacSalvors in the way.  Make for a proper day out.

@joe90 have you thought of just finding things that are growing locally and taking cuttings, seeds and berries.

I am always amazed what springs up in my garden.

I have heard of Macsalvors, must take a look. Regarding cuttings etc time is against me, i have taken some but I don’t want to wait years before having anything of any size as the plot is quite big , I don’t mind spending a bit to get some more “immediate” decent sized shrubs.

Get some echiums.

They grow very fast, and tall.

So tall, mine fell over.

Just looked at these but they like free draining soils, not heavy clay like I have, just dug the ground over and added “muck”, found you can get garden compost fairly locally FREE, it’s council green waste that’s been composted, free to collectors ?, roll on summer eh!
