Anthony Crown Posted November 28, 2021 Posted November 28, 2021 I am putting together a planning application by myself. One of the requirements is to have a location plan (a map of the neighbourhood) in 1:500 scale, with the boundaries of the property marked in red. I see on the councils planning application database that other applicants have nice maps used with all property boundaries drawn with numbers and all, so my question is, where do I find this type of map to use to create one of my own?

ProDave Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 I just photocopied the location map from the deeds.
ETC Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 Just be careful photocopying anything with copyright. Land Registry are not keen on having their maps photocopied.
BenP Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Yep in theory you should be very careful with copyright etc. The link above from the Planning Portal is good - we typically use MapServe for ours. Interface is good and enables us to download digital data, cad, etc etc.
dangti6 Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 I used RequestaPlan which was about £24 for the 3 plans required. 1
Galileo Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 (edited) Followed the "HOPS validation of applications"guidance notes from the planning department and so not allowed to use OS data unless you license it, I'm tight careful with my money so used Openstreetmap, added bits needed like property names, road numbers, North marker in QGIS and sent that off without any issue. When I say no issue, there was a debate about what constitutes an Agricultural Unit in Scotland but that's a different thing entirely... Edited November 30, 2021 by Galileo
