If you have a scaffold tower it would be much better than a ladder.  Are you just putting back the bits that came off, or renewing the whole thing?

Don’t call him a freak! Fixable from outside, tower would be best, should not let wet in.

Looks a Rachman rental.

 

My insulation got disturbed and ended up sitting over the vent in the soffit.

Sucked in wind drive rain, then wet the plasterboard below.

So may be a problem, get it fixed.

And a lick of paint on the window would not go a miss.

Windows are modern pvc . The bath stone is a pita to maintain without spending mega money

Wire brush and a lick of paint will make it fine.

the cause of water getting in, it does look black under there , needs to be addressed. I'd go for ventilated soffet as well.
