puntloos
So I'm quite tempted to go for the interlocking roof tile - it's quite cost effective for what you get, and it seems elegant enough... But am I missing ay downsides? FWIW th tiles I'm primarily thinking of are: Forticrete Minislate Edgemere Concrete roof tiles

Not sure if it is a locality thing but in fenland concrete tiles age badly and very quickly, driving down any road you can easily spot concrete, clay , slate just by the thickness of crap sitting on top of the tiles. dpmiller
We went with a slate-effect interlocking clay tile. Much harder smoother surface than concrete, thinner edge, much more slatey-looking https://www.lbsproducts.com/clay-roof-tiles/slate-effect-tiles/snowdon
ProDave
My roof is done with Edgemere Riven finish. It's a slightly thinner version of the standard Edgemere tile and with a riven finish to make it look just a little bit like slate. It was the only concrete tile that the planners would accept here having tried to get me to use slate.
Oz07
Availability might be a consideration. Few years ago it was easier to get hold of clay
Mr Punter
We specified Sandtoft 20/20 interlocking clay tiles in ‘Antique’ for a forthcoming project. Dark grey / black clay.
