Or rather I need to have one of those wooden rules that proper chippies use as well as a steel rule. The steels I use keep breaking. Including my  favourite Hultafors rule.

Recommendations for one of those folding wooden rules?

What are you doing to them? I think I have only broken one in many years (I did drop a concrete block on it) I always bought cheap and had many of them floating around site. After a tidy up and consolidation of my tools I currently have 10 of them on a shelf above the bench, you can never have too many tape measures.

I have recently bought a. Milwaukee Stud tape measure. Best tape I’ve ever used, all metric, large numbers ( important for you old people) can be read from both directions,

i will look for a wooden one, I think I was given a couple by the Siga rep.

I used to use one of the folding plastic ones. Can't think why I would use one now use a tape for everything.

Steel rule good for intricate bench joinery don't get much of that on site though!
