Ikea did something similar, not sure if they still do it.

you could always DIY. Not sure where you would get the panels from, maybe someone could suggest a supplier?

Looks very like the sort of bedroom furniture found in some hotels, so a look around hotel outfitters might prove fruitful.

Alternatively, it's probably something that a reasonable joiner could make fairly easily, perhaps.

My concern would be the effect of contact with the corners of the bed frame on my shins in the middle of the night.  We have an oak chest at the end of the bed and that's caught me a few times now, but it's at knee height.  I think if it were at shin height it would have had to go...

Good point.

It is more the bedhead with the bedside drawers I am looking for.

Has anyone come across anything like this at a reasonable price?

You could get a real veneer MDF or Egger or something in 18mm for the rear panels from the likes of Timbmet and then get 38mm for other bits, mitre them up so you can use all the veneer faces only and you could make that.

Joiner.

Nice little job for a local tradesman. Guess at cost - A day to make, a day to fit, plus wood and fixings. Less than £500

Even easier then - veneered and edged sheets stood off the wall to create the shadow-gap then have a joiner (or yourself) make up the little cabinets in veneered board and wood of the same type, rub down then a satin lacquer over the lot. We have an oak bed which is 75% solid oak but the headboard is a full oak panel - so it's a 2mm real wood veneer on MDF set between two solid pieces of oak and a top rail so edges are all hidden. All done in English oak so by the time it was rubbed down and coated in a lacquer it looks brilliant.

It should be indeed... but these guys like to charge these days.

I was quoted £500 to render the front of my garage on Tuesday! It's timber above the door so only the 2 pieces of wall each side of the door which are basically 4.4m² each! I think the guy may have thought I was insane. I am going to pickup the pre-mixed bags of stuff this weekend for the scratch and final coat for £28.00. £472.00 to render two bits of wall!

If its just the headboard and bedsides not bed frame then ikea have one in white or anthracite for £120.  Wont get cheaper than that but no idea what quality is like. There is a web site called head2bed.co.uk and they have various options at not too much money

Just been looking around, and it seems there are several sites specialising in hotel furniture that may have something like this (not found exactly what you want yet).  There are also a few hotel second hand sales sites that may have something similar; could be better value than having something custom made, especially if it's just the head board and cabinets needed (not sure I'd want a second hand ex-hotel bed!).

I like the look of it. I would look at foam for the grey uholstered bit and perhaps the drawers would be more practical if they were in line with the top of the mattress.

I am with @JSHarris on the sticking out bed frame! It made me wince just looking at as I imagined shinning myself in the middle of the pitch black night.

Thank you everyone.

I am at work today so not had much of a chance to look.

I hadn't thought of hotel furniture. Good one!

I am not sure I am capable of making one. Taking me ages to fit the utility room cabinets.

Going slowly so I don't make a mistake. :)
