PI build Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 Hi All, We started a major refurbishment / part rebuild and found problems with the structure - this has forced us to change route and demolish and rebuild. Planning permission to do this is going through at the moment. Wish we had found this site earlier, we have already found some good threads. 2
ProDave Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 Hi and welcome. This sounds like someone near me who bought a steading (barn) to convert but as soon as they started work they found there were literally no foundations under the walls so that ended up being a new build instead.
Conor Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 We're in the same boat... Intended to renovate but now makes much more sense to knock and rebuild. Waiting for planning to come through. Learned so much about building in that time.
PI build Posted June 21, 2019 Author Posted June 21, 2019 Glad we are not the only ones in this situation. Sadly we started before realising that it was better to have a new build.
