I know everyone raves about Multipanels and we are planning to use for teh bathroom. But just wondered if anyone had used the tile effect ones: https://www.multipanel.co.uk/products/walls/tile-wall-panels They are made from a different material to the normal ones, not sure if they are better/worse/just as good? They only have a 10 yr warranty versus 15 years for the normal ones Any comments welcome

How would I find a house in the colour I choose?
-
I am being asked by my builder to choose the colour of the render. I want white but various people have warned me off pure white as it is too bright. But they haven't told me what white is okay. The preferred render supplier from our builder will do any RAL colour but it is dfficult to choose just looking at the RAL colour chart on a computer. Has anybody used a particular RAL colour render that could advise? If I get it wrong it will be an expensive mistake.... We have got anthracite grey windows, doors and slate colour tiles. I do not want a cream colour.

I was wondering about putting some small led lights up the stairs to add a bit of a Wow feature. Has anybody done it, was it relatively easy? What lights did you use, Led downlights? Any pictures greatly appreciated

Shower screen vs sliding shower door
Jude1234 replied to Jude1234's topic in Bathrooms, Ensuites & Wetrooms
Have you done this before, do you have any photos you could share so I can shower the glass company and my builder? For the fixed screens I see from your previous posts that the glass is sealed to the floor, is that correct?- 36 replies

Shower screen vs sliding shower door
Jude1234 replied to Jude1234's topic in Bathrooms, Ensuites & Wetrooms
We are having fixed screens in the larger shower rooms but this room only has a 1200 mm shower tray, hence my question. I had thought that in order to keep the water in a minimum of 900 mm screen was required, which would only leave a 300 mm gap to get in. If the screen is hinged then there would be more space to get in.- 36 replies

Shower screen vs sliding shower door
Jude1234 replied to Jude1234's topic in Bathrooms, Ensuites & Wetrooms
So it will just be the glass and the hinges from ebay? Will the bottom of the glass be flush with the shower tray or will there be a small gap?- 36 replies

Shower screen vs sliding shower door
Jude1234 replied to Jude1234's topic in Bathrooms, Ensuites & Wetrooms
Yes that is exactly what I mean so they can move it to get in, then put in line with the main shower screen when actually showering- 36 replies

In my sons ensuite his shower tray is 1200mm x 900 mm. Was originally going to get a sliding door but they all have lots of bits that can get really grotty. Just wondered if a 700mm shower screen with a 300mm swivel panel would work or if a) there won't be enough room to get in and out and/or b) if water will splash out. What do people think?

OOh I didn't know howdens did bathroom cabinets. I have had a look on the website and they look smart. No prices though unfortunately. How much are they? I can't believe how much bathroom vanity units are for what are essentially mdf cupboards.
-
In our ensuite we want to fit a double vanity unit with his and hers sinks that are over counter. But no matter what search terms I use I cannot find a unit that does not come with sinks. Does anyone have one/know where we can get one? The reason we want a counter top basin is because the fitted sinks are very shallow and OH wants a deep bowl for shaving. We can find single units, would two of those fitted next to each other look c**p?

Looks lovely, the bamboo flooring looks great. Where did you get it from? We are going to be using it for the majority of our downstairs

Are Cat 5 sockets required all round the house
Jude1234 replied to Jude1234's topic in Networks, AV, Security & Automation
Wow, thanks for all the replies, looks like the consensus is go with lots ? -
We are just putting together the spcification for first fix. Do we need to have Cat 5 cables in every room or will wifi be okay for some rooms. We have 2 boys so will definitely have a socket in their rooms and also in the family room with the xbox. Just wondered what other people did and whether they are underused or if people wished they had put more in.
