Hi Here's one for everyone, talk about stress and haven't started yet, digger booked for Monday next week, went running with my dogs last week, tripped over on coastal path into a heap and on the floor, 40minute hobble home turned out fractured ankle, wearing a special boot for 4 weeks, so have delayed the start date. Hopefully be more mobile by the time the digger turns up in four weeks. Thanks John

  7. Hi Declan I was looking at frame therm roll 32 w/mk 0.032, as opposed to 120mm celotex w/mk 0.022. My building regulations have been passed so do I need to resubmit or just talk to become Thanks John
  8. Hi Looking at celotex prices, I am now considering knauf frame fill, 140mm with celotex over the top,the values are not much different and with good airtight membrane fitting, will the difference be noticeable Thanks John
  9. Hi Thanks for the initial feedback, garage has to stay, washing would probably be via utility to outside, the kitchen door was to give a view from the hallway to the garden? Mike am I right in saying have the door on the left and glazing panel on the right ,the car won't be mine for a while. I've taken some better photos Thanks John

  12. Hi I am going to stick build my timber frame 140mm, was going upgrade to fully fill the studs with 140 celotex with 50mm over the top rather than just 120mm in between. Upgrade slab insulation from 100mm celotex to 150mm Roof upgrade from 200mm in between and 20mm underneath to 200mm and 50mm underneath I have a block external skin. Is it worth the extra cost. Hi Have been reading this excellent forum for sometime and decided to post Have detailed planning passed for a detached house with in our garden, plot separated from existing mortgaged property, waiting for self build mortgage decision, building regulations passed other than roof and posi joist. House is approximately 300 sq meters external over three floors with rooms in the roof, timber frame stick built on site ( I use to be a carpenter) with block external skin, builder chosen (a friend who is always busy but never advertises). Hopefully starting end of August with a 12 month build schedule. Location is sunny Cornwall. John
