  1. So ~£30 r290 and a ~£10 valve? Plus the pump/manifold that I should have bought in the first place, should there be any issues. Probably cheaper than an appliances direct quote to fix? Would add six months to the payback period maybe based on what I've seen from the unit.
  2. This is worrying, I assumed a recharge would be reasonably priced should anything go wrong. Any more air con contractors you could try? Maybe @HughF could advise on whether it can be DIYed with reasonably priced kit? Did you find the source of the leak? Assuming no damaged pipes do you reckon it's the mechanical connection? I fudged the required torque based on a the feel of an old torque wrench but didn't have the adaptor to actually use it to make the connection. I was surprised how tight it was, it felt as tight as I could reasonably go without destroying the connection on the smaller pipe. Fingers crossed no issues with my unit, it's started dutifully offsetting gas usage for the heating season.
  3. The smart meter and IHD kWh figures are correct so you can relax about the gas usage. It would be a bit of a national scandal if they weren't. British gas still have your account set as an imperial meter so all of your usage/costs displayed on their dashboard are 2.83 times higher than they should be. They are the ones in the wrong, and very badly so if these figures make it through to your bill.
  4. I looked recently but all the manufacturers just have notification list sign ups rather than launch dates.
  5. Yep, that's your issue then, conversion factor is 2.83 which lines up with the figures you posted.
  6. This rules out the smart meter tariff being the cause then, though it does seem to be stuck on pre-october rates which is not uncommon. This instead looks to be an imperial/metric mismatch. What are the units displayed on your actual smart meter (not the IHD) as afaik they are all metric. Which means British gas replaced your imperial meter with a metric smart meter but didn't adjust your billing (or optimistically just the online display). Politely give them hell.
  7. Duplicated post, deleted.
  8. Press the "kWh" button on this screen and show us what it says.
  9. kWh for the day in question to compare against the app figures, that is.
  10. No idea but if not, would the same number of panels fit but be centred on the roof? 😬
  11. My bet would be British gas are using the same values as the smart meter but the smart meter tariff is out of date therefore showing a lower actual cost. Can you check the tariff or compare kWh instead?
  12. You can move your export to outgoing fixed at 15p/kWh. Not quite symmetric to the cosy import but I just fully charge for simplicity.
  13. Outgoing Fixed Export now working as expected. I forgot it's fixed for 12 months so does insure next summer against export price drops, not that I'm expecting prices to drop much.
  14. Ah much bigger than it looked, you just need a secondary glazing frame smaller than that then.
  15. Relative to standard variable it's -40% in the six hour cheap period, +60% in the three hour peak period, around 42p. You can check exact rates/standing order for your region here: https://octopus.energy/smart/cosy-octopus/?location=rates
  16. It's hard to tell but looks to be <1cm from the bottom of the open window to the sill? Fine if you only ever want to tilt the window but if you wanted to fully open it you might struggle to get a frame slim enough to avoid fouling it when opening the window.
  17. Looking again there seems to be almost no clearance on the inward opening windows, so it may be a non-starter.
  18. As usual this makes a joke of government targets. Doesn't matter if it actually functions or not, allowing the user to leverage smart tariffs, the box for "installed at this property" gets ticked...
  19. Interesting, though with all Octopus tariffs it depends... Cosy is ~16p/kWh in the cheap period though depends on a battery to stop that figure climbing outside the cheap period. You'd need to factor in the increased cost of times outside these figures due to your high base load. I've been interested in this tariff too but haven't done the sums yet.
  20. Big help for noise in hotels, but motorbikes may be a step too far as there seems to be no interest in limiting their noise levels.
  21. Same with the export, I specifically applied for outgoing fixed which seemed to confuse things even more, maybe an email to them would have been better? Usually the UI is a mess for 48 hours then it all comes out the wash. Indeed, it tops up the battery like the solar used to and six hours a day of cheap heat pump should definitely help with winter costs! I've parked all the complicated battery management logic and just gone for 100% charge in the cheap periods as cheap Cosy is close enough to Fixed Outgoing export to not faff about.
  22. Finally time to say goodbye to Flux and jump ship to Cosy for the winter. Haven't paid a penny for energy whilst on Flux (including gas and both standing orders) and remaining credit should last to the end of the month so 7.5 months of free energy, can't ask for more really!
  23. If only every company were as open with their APIs, another big plus for Octopus.
  24. Used this exact service for standard walnut, no issues at all, it looks great.
