Tempted to have a reduced width flipper to 200mm but fixed ...
-
Trying to create that ‘wet room’ feel ...

Exactly that ! ; but buying off eBay ....

Yeah , this is what I can’t work out . If hinged better because you can move it to deflect water or fixed and it ‘ just is ‘ . I haven’t tested either of these configurations ...

Should the defector panel be fixed or hinged ????

So, I've been looking at shower enclosures - can find what I want but at a price! Spent 2 hours online choosing the tray!!! Is there anything 'wrong' with just buying the glass panels separately and making my own enclosure? Tray will be 1200 x 900 So looking for ( I presume ) a 700mm glass, 300mm hinged flipper , then a 900mm pane for the 'rear' ( so a 500mm entrance into the enclosure ) Is this a better way of doing things? or should I keep to an 'enclosure' that meets my requirements? ( is an enclosure just as I've listed anyway??) cheers

It is. That grouting is VERY old now. Also it never lined up behind the cistern - keeps me awake at night.....

Cheers ! Does it compress ? What I mean is if I hang a heavy wall unit ( it’s fixing go straight into stud ) - the unit is against tiles and delta underneath - will the delta warp / bend ?
-
So , I’ve got this for bathroom and ensuite walls . First question - is there a side that faces in I.e tiled on ? - or does it not matter ?? Seems quite flimsy (12mn I think ) . Whilst I’m sure it does the job is it better or advised to marine ply the walls then attached the delta board ???
-
Thickened up the ensuite wall to allow for 80cm depth geberit in wall cistern . Undoubtedly using far too much timber and screws - but it won’t move !!
-
Yep - will be tiled over . Like you I worry about the brass side leaking not the Hep2o !! . I’ll do it and be damned ! . Spend the rest of my life worrying about a Schrödinger's leak ...... Only way to answer the question years from now will be to smash the tile and backer board out to look at a bone dry connection - then explain to my wife the years of stress it caused - the not knowing ! . Before anyone suggests I’m not going to put some glazing over the fitting so I can watch it !!!

Most expensive trade, you’ve had.

I had one guy on site . Messed up the measurements for some custom walk on glazing . Cost me £3.5k - F ‘ ing idiot ! -
Hole for ensuite waste . Mock up of what I intend . JTM plumbing ( no I don’ t work for them ! Used them before ! ) , are brilliant ! Explain my dumbness - tell them what I am trying to achieve and they send me a parts list - top service !!

Does it matter my inlet via that Hep2o elbow will never been accessible?? I assume from your photo that particular one will be ....but mine ....... ?
-
Yeah; you'll be impressed with some of their stuff - I loved the front door they have!!

Hmmmm, mine will never be accessible!
-
Agree ! Its one of those things that keeps YOU awake - but when everyone else starts using the bathroom they don’t even notice !!
-
Ah yes ! Thanks . I think that’s what I need . Just maybe my hep20 pipe is long enough . ?
-
Bum . Cistern cold feed not quite long enough !!! Because I moved WC ? . Don’t want a join - but I think have no choice !!
-
Think this seems ok for the feed . Just need to work out what Hep2o fittings goes to this thread ...
-
@bassanclan ; also the sink unit ( already purchased ) is a wall mount so no pedestal . Assume , as you’ll see more floor - will give the illusion of a wider gap . As I said I can move the sink along but there’s a vanity unit which is 1.2m long - sink obviously centre of that . Too much towards the window though and I’ll encroach on the free standing bath ...
-
Put the cistern in place . Funny really I built a double stud wall to ‘relieve’ noise from the bathroom . Now I’ve moved the geberit into the wall there’s no sound insulation behind it !! Time to sort out how the water feed to cistern is done
-
Yes ; I thought the same ! Funny isn’t it - you can see the real width - but you kind of see the ply which then fools you . Actual corner to corner distance is about 58cm . I allowed a ‘bit’ of play for the sink as shower tray once purchased is a fixed thing - so can probably creep a few cm away from the shower . I’ll punt my luck on the 1200 x 900 tray ?
