@Gav_P just shat himself for sure ?
-
Admin - I’m being picked on can you grow a pair and intervene? no ? Oh there’s a surprise
-
Yeah respect @Big Jimbo ; you (expletive deleted) want to take a swipe big Jimbo who is 5ft nothing and a skinny puny shit will not sort you out ! .
-
With the greatest of respect maybe if you fought planning for 5 years to get planning to build an underground non standard house with zero knowledge in this field you would understand. What have you built / done ?
-
Oh yes . Record covertly all planning / council meetings . A few gems may well appear .
-
@Jess27 I looked briefly at your proposal . If I can get planning in the most arrogant self righteous toss pot area with the wealthiest neighbours who have the council planners as “ friends “ then don’t you dare quit . Adapt . Turn opinion into fact . Planning is only half the story the other half is politics - I can guess what you think of that . So mitigate or reduce an alleged issue . Compromise where you need to . Play your worst hand so you can come back with your best hand . Though I’ve offered you no technical usable advice - you got this ?
-
Hence have multiple things on the go !
-
Don’t like the clasp as it’s pulled out and is just weak . Will order new hook as you suggest ! Failure is not an option ! ??
-
I didn’t mess with the clasp - bet you did though !
-
Nothing too see here ! Walk on by ! Tray up ( very carefully watching the hook ) timber propped underneath . There it will stay until a nicer ? hook solution is found . No drama . Oh look ! A forest ? ! See it !?
-
Another completely random example might be say you were lifting a heavy shower tray with a winch and the straps came off the hook . You’d probably be inclined to “ go and do something else “ at that point in time .... ???
-
When it’s above me I prop a length of timber across it . Winch is taking no weight - it’s relatively safe perched on timber . As I said I like to test and try a few times to get everything in the right place . No good getting it wrong and trying to lift it out on my own from a corner . Problem was the crappy clasp on the hook pulled out . Need a lockable clasp on a hook that can go on a cabled winch . I’m never under the tray when it’s moving up or down - I’m not that stupid ! ? This is a safe method !!

Tell you what guys . This is the way to do it . Lower to test placement , raise and secure . Then amend Easy ! ?
-
Yeah I was thinking a bit of silicone . Is rather crap especially for an expensive tray . The instructions say the drain must be at the other end from the shower . So you effectively have to walk on it ?
-
Had a quick look at this . The drain has no grate - is that correct ? Also the cover seems a bit crap - it can slide around and just sits on some rubber legs ( one is broke ) . Is that it ? . Going to clunk and move when you step on it . Am I missing something ???
-
My new best friend!! ?
-
If I die tomorrow you suckers can finish it for my SWMBO . Good luck with that ! ( finishing it I mean not SWMBO )
-
Equally I may eventually realise I haven’t got the right part or I haven’t got a clue what I’m doing . So I stop . Find something else that I haven’t got the right part for and I’m clueless about .An infinite loop of micro progression!!! . A perfect formula !
-
You made me laugh Because (for example) I might grout a wall in the ensuite then as I don't want to get dust on it or mess it up start on something else. TBH it was always my plan to skirt between bathroom and ensuite. Do a bit here , do a bit there. Demoralising? After 7 years I LOVE IT! ( for the most part )
-
I now flirt between the ensuite and the bathroom . As tray is relatively safe ,work begins on its drain and support
-
It’s not sold and you know it !
-
Well ! Thanks to @Onoff ‘s suggestion of those clamps . Got the tray up . Don’t trust the winch 1 inch as it grinds , spurts , stalls like it’s dying - a quality eBay purchase . Cut a hole in the opposite wall so I could get a length of timber under . Winch now taking zero of the strain . Bit low - but I couldn’t easily go higher . At least I can get under it now ?
