  1. Because I prefer that I control the item I’ve bought . Appreciate that we all have only limited control over our purchase in use . I need to look at the Tesla tariff in more detail - it might be better for me . In the octopus forum where loads of people have pv , pw etc. don’t think I’ve seen one person on Tesla tariff . So presumably there are more savings to be made on agile .
  2. Shower has both feeds live ( fixed leak on manifold ) . Not sure if there’s the slightest of leaks though . Will leave pressurised overnight . More tanking on the other wall
  3. The other point I’d like to make actually involves JSHarris . When he installed an update for his Tesla car the update claimed ( from memory ) a 5% increase in range . And it did exactly that . Unlike Apple whom cripple your hardware forcing you to purchase . The fact Tesla isn’t trying to skim you and lots of their car software is available source wise too look at online is a nice plus . ?
  4. I’ll choose agile to start with then see . You can swap without penalty between agile and go . What I don’t want to do is keep swapping !! . Just a tariff that works for me most of the time . If you do go Tesla it would be interesting to see how you fair on a different tariff. Of course you’ll have different consumption at different times with different weather - so a very accurate comparison ?
  5. Yeah I saw that Tesla octopus tariff . Can’t work out if it’s better . What I don’t like is effectively they are controlling your battery .
  6. I will . On my phone at the moment - working !! unlike you lot ! ?
  7. I assume ASHP did something !! . Nothing else on site plugged in to generate that spike
  8. Some stuff for you ! App does generate a csv which I can’t upload . Can rename and upload later if you like .
  9. You mean like this ?
  10. What do you mean ? . To measure my consumption in my current abode ??
  11. Just saw the rest of your post. Weather in Bristol about the same yet ..... Obviously that could change in the next 10 seconds .
  12. Lol at the moment it’s almost nothing . So during winter my electric bill is going to be just a few £’s a month . I need to move in properly then I can estimate much more accurately.
  13. We are the giants . We are effectively the first men on the moon . We f’up a bit on our bodged oxygen tanks and dodgy foil clad lunar module . But we are conquering the unknown with our hearts and tiny bit of head and wallet . Go forward young OnOff Skywalker !
  14. Exactly my intended use for PV , charge the battery for night use . Hence agile especially for in winter and lack of PV to charge that battery ( and car ) cheap
  15. Now we’re talking bruv’ I think from the “others” it’s been established it’s not worth it fiscally at least in the short term . I equally was going to have RWH - but as you say payback would be 1 billion years . I actually wanted to produce my own drinkable water from rainwater , but again it just isn’t viable . Looked at pellet boilers for years - before I even began my build . Don’t mind the high initial costs ; but storing pellets is problematic and they just track the price of gas . I want *some* lecky that is free be it pv , wind turbine or my own nuclear power generator ( I’d love one of them - especially when it goes wrong ). Some of us lead . That means mistakes and bad choices will be made . But we pave the way for you lesser mortals to follow . ”This is the way” as the Mandalorian would say . You people are standing on the shoulders of giants ( no emoji exists to demonstrate my complete smugness )
  16. Because I can’t answer that question . What Will lecky cost in 5 years ? Once I add an EV ( everyone seems to ignore the cost of purchase because it’s a CAR ) - then there’s even more benefit . Once I swap to agile more benefit again . The true answer will be in 10 years time . As I said even if I break even by then my carbon footprint would of been reduced for a decade . My gut feeling based on others whom have had a pw for longer is that I’ll reach break even before 10 years . Just like building a house ; I’ll take the plunge and evaluate later if it was worth it . The destination is always the journey .
  17. Very very overcast and rainy . But still just covering my admittedly very low lecky usage
  18. This is a thread about a purchased Tesla - not whether it’s fiscally viable or better / worse than ‘x’.
  19. Yesterday’s figures . Solar today will be tricky - currently 0 ?
  20. I think the solar watt is complete sh*t ? Bet you have an Android phone aswell ! ?
  21. I’ll order one of those aswell so I can start another thread to be poo poo’d on .
  22. My thread ! So ! if you are interested , or want details , or it just takes your fancy as a whim then please post . If you want to rubbish , poo poo , de value , mock then please don’t post . Debate of course is welcome ( not really based on brexit thread and COVID-19) - but if you must - then be broad minded . Don’t be rash . I’ve bought it as others have and will so this isn’t really the thread to say ‘it’s crap ‘ , ‘ not economically viable ‘ - start another thread for that . I think that’s fair !
  23. Because it was a personal unfair dig at me ! My Tesla battery isn’t ‘green’ as Peter states - but an EV or Anything lithium battery is ? Constantly goes on about repayment time etc . @ProDave ; agrees with that but at least put a reasonable and fair argument up ! @PeterW can just drop in - rubbish something then move on with zero response ? . Still hasn’t answered the questions posed . But wants us all to admire his ‘ green credentials’ with postering . That doesn’t do it for me I’m afraid .
  24. As usual my post gets turned into BS . Doesn’t matter what I post . This was about my Tesla and my experience. But no - it has to be destroyed and diluted by admin !!!
  25. PM me if you have an issue with me - we can sort that out real quick .
