😊 . You can go “ as far as you can “ off the original drawings . Without being ridiculous. As mentioned if no one complains I.e neighbor ; no one cares . If you do ‘grab a bit extra ‘ just be prepared to give a reason if caught . e.g I had this . Neighbor complains house is higher than drawings . Drawings show house against ‘original wall ‘ . The original wall didn’t exist ( I had knocked it down ) - so is my new wall higher than original wall ? . Also ( as a plan B ) I claimed to the enforcement officer that I had added extra floor insulation which had increased the height slightly . As a side note . My build ‘grew’ 1 metre longer and 0.5m wider

So bitumen’d along this bit . Did clear off the loose soil . But as I painted it on I created a depression as it pulled the loose stuff up . Will paint again later today . Tomorrow will stick a bit of cement in that depression though . Also bought a larger tin - ready to paint the entire width of the lane if need be . Won’t bother with anymore water tests as it’s incredibly difficult too make it leak but Mr. Rain seems very good at its job .

Strangely enough my gym has constant leaks . Metal flat roof , very large . Been like that since I joined many years ago . They’ve had various contractors in over that time . But once you go up that flight of stairs on a rainy day you are nearly always greeted my the strategically placed buckets .

Yeah I could just blast a sq metre of the lane with it . But I really want to know the exact area . It was a fair bit of rain , some heavy , so a good test .

So I’m going to use a standard phone charger to a usb step down I.e to 3v . Wire it into a zigbee door sensor . Then wire dry contacts from reed switch to alarm panel . This should get reliable HA in event of the alarm . Its just the pressure sensor - might take a punt .

The saniflo has a pressure switch . You drill a hole in the top of the saniflo , place a plastic tube it it . The saniflo then sits ontop the unit with the pressure switch in the head of the tube .

So this crap battery powered high water alarm worries me . Just tested it , batteries apparently flat even though replaced only 3 weeks ago . Not much faith in this . Could be flat and I wouldn’t know until kitchen flooded So want a pressure switch that links to a mains powered but battery backup unit . Unit has a light to indicate it’s actually on and also possibility to trigger a zigbee relay so can notify HA Most of these alarms operate on a float which I don’t want . Pressure switches seem to be industrial or maybe a washing machine type pressure switch ??? Any solid suggestions on a pressure switch , alarm box that will work together suitably appreciated

True . Could put osb down I.e make a nice path for it protecting the floor . More of an issue would be any turns required and indeed how narrow passages are …

Maybe ? Literally last week saw something like this . The guy was able to stand on a platform at the back and the bucket could be raised to empty into a skip . Depends on width and what turning space you need to get through your house .

I find ice cold beer also helps .

This is something I didn’t consider at the time - as there was no perceived need . Now though I would suggest it . Like everyone our ‘ground floor’ gets very hot especially as lots of glass facing south . Below ground always 3 degrees cooler . I just put fans in bedrooms - appreciate they don’t cool the air - but it’s acceptable. If these type of summers persist then simply portable ac in each room ( not the true vented ones though )

Undoubtedly! . But it was cheaper than a Shelly and zigbee thermometer. The fact it works for £17 is where I’m happy 😃
