  1. See gits ! Not just me !
  2. Guys How much do drywall screws impact insulation value of a wall? Answer : (expletive deleted) all
  3. I have SO much to show …
  4. Yes on a self build it’s easy to fixate on apparently irrelevant things . But ! they keep you awake at night . Let the drywall screw mindset go …. You’ll find something else 🙄😁
  5. Any one done their own modelling? yep !
  6. Yes ; stuff has gone missing aka bin for certain . But occasionally SWMBO says “ have you seen the ‘x’ ?” . Naturally I say no but think “ (expletive deleted) I threw that away ! “
  7. Picture is worth a thousand words @ToughButterCup . The orange on the floor to the left is the decoupling mat . So I can tile maybe 2 rows before I swear again
  8. It’s the temporary kitchen … The 65 boxes of “ important stuff we can’t throw away “ The 160kg fridge/freezer The massive mame arcade unit The dining table and eight chairs The tools for the build And now ; the 100 sq m of tiles at nearly 3tonnes I moved Apart from that ; it’s empty 😢🙄
  9. Nope - it’s all filthy ; we don’t use bleach
  10. 100 sq m in a non empty room in 1 day 🫤🫤🫤🫤😢
  11. Ok . So no clips on ‘end of day ‘ ? I could cut the next day clip so its base fits between yesterdays tile and todays ( movable tile ) . Not sure that gives a different result to just leaving the clip in from the day before though . I might be over thinking this !
  12. Ok . Will try later when SWMBO is here . Then when it does go wrong I can blame you 😁
  13. I installed it so there’s zero chance of that amateur error 🙄
  14. Ok . So when I plumb the kitchen properly what should I put presumably between the tails and the water feed ?
  15. As the self proclaimed Totally Incredible Tiler - with loads of experience; I never thought of this … I use the Rubi system ; clips and wedges - it’s ace . But at a days end ( got 100 m sq floor to do ) what should I do with the last exposed clips ? What I mean is ; next day they’ll be gone off and therefore can’t move to level with the next new freshly laid tile . Previously I just left them and they become that level as they are fixed . But sat here thinking ; I thought I should ask . It’s called doing a @Thorfun I.e ask question avoids doing work 👍
  16. Straight - it tee’s before that though for washing machine / dishwasher . Could those activating cause hammer / strain on it ??
  17. Nope . Another photo to show context . No rats ( I hope ) - nothing nearby to rub / scratch it .
  18. Really surprised at this . Less than 2 yrs old ( temporary kitchen ) . Cheap tap admittedly from eBay - but it looks like it has ‘rotted’ apart . Tails are under no strain - nothing has caught them to damage them either . Wondered what the wet patch on the floor was 🙄
  19. I’d certainly be concerned wall mounting without a known fixing into a noggin . Hardie board is surprisingly strong - you could try a test hole and fixing - guessing some form of metal expanding fixing ( like for plasterboard ) .
  20. Must admit I did laugh at this . Not enough homes Here’s some money to build them They’ll be too expensive in the current climate It’s almost a joke isn’t it ! . I guess like all parties it’s a case of giving up trying to fix the housing problem.
  21. Yeah yeah ; bit of bs . I’ve seen the photo your SWMBO sent me ….
  22. Yeah , that’s true . You’re not equipped; like me ……
  23. Or not hidden 😉😉😉😉😉😉 - only friends in your windowless / sound proof dungeon
  24. Don’t forget the hidden camera 😉
  25. @nod ‘s as much an amateur like me 😎👍
