  1. Any thouughts on "netting" to be cable tied to my 25mm box section frame. This'll go top and sides. Mainly to protect from rabbits then deer. I was looking at this plastic netting. Won't stop a badger I know. Rats would no doubt chew it. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Feizeisun-Garden-Netting-Protecting-Vegetables/dp/B097PYWP5H/ref=sr_1_7?crid=1ST1SKQWEEGW7&keywords=garden+netting&qid=1653895576&sprefix=garden+netting%2Caps%2C106&sr=8-7
  2. You could 3D print grommets to go round the pipe. Either flexible or in two halves. Complete overkill of course. ...or you could foam it. I know which one I'd choose 😂
  3. I used to subscribe to Popular Science and get it sent every month. Then some thing happened and they stopped the subscription service for overseas (9/11?).
  4. Pretty sure if it didn't work it wouldn't be a thing! https://soundproofexpert.com/acoustic-sealant/
  5. Point to point!
  6. Mine did have hair that reached down to the backs of her knees. It a fit of teenage rebellion she cut it off one night, cue tears from SWMBO! 😂 Secretly well please as it's reduced the frequency I have to unclog and clean the Geberit wall drain. Both of mine are shortsighted but you would have thought they'd have at least felt the water lapping at their ankles!
  7. I get a WhatsApp message from upstairs to "advance the hot water". First thing I do when I walk in at night is turn any advance settings off and turn the room stat down to something near normal.
  8. This thread or life in general?
  9. What happens to these systems if you get hit by a bus? Are you going to write a manual for the muggles left behind that they can understand?
  10. Some people's grout is that colour by choice!
  11. I can see UFH being super useful in a wet room situation after the little sods who can't be bothered to simply kick the towel they've just used around the floor to dry up any excess have been in there for a couple of hours. Or at least it will be once I connect it up...
  12. Here's hoping @pocster's a keeper!
  13. The new Elizabeth line?
  14. I think this weekend it's a case of get 'em in or go home. Torrential rain every evening when I've gotten home has stopped me finishing the sleeper surround. (Saying that, my 200mm screws only arrived yesterday). This weekend is looking dry and the ground should be nicely diggable to get the sleepers in. The soil where the trench was dug is remarkably weed free. Guessing the literal "top" soil was the last to go back in the trench. I took out most of the flints and rubble when I backfilled and there's the alternate layers of soil ash, compost and grass cuttings and bits of bone in there. Hopefully the original "weed" layer is at the bottom, rotting away. Do I plant the beans on the inside of the A frame or outside? Thinking inside then train up the coir ropes. Need to get some more coir rope too. The couple of birthday bean plants SWMBO put in tubs don't seem to be faring so well. Fairly sure she imported critters in the compost etc
  15. Certainly something special in the diction! 😂
  16. Wonder what that's like...🤔
  17. Can you make runner bean wine?
  18. I must dive into Lidl and see if I can get some more coir rope to finish off the stringing on the bean frame.
  19. Out for a walk the other day and I happened upon one of our local Roman snails. Think almost pink colour, golf ball size or even bigger shell and a very pale body. Came over with Romans when they settled in the Darent Valley area, Lullingstone etc. Edible I believe. No camera, next time.
  20. Only time I've heard of such a thing is when growing dope plants then they're supposed to "bush".
  21. Nope, never heard of that. Tell me more!
  22. Sons of African dictators d'you mean?
