We're in the market for good quality, reasonably priced bathroom stuff: bath, shower, basins, etc. Any suggestions for a good place to buy these online? There are all the usual suspects when you google them, but was wondering whether there are quiet gems you guys have used. Ferdinand recommended a really place for buying beading from a while ago, which never came up on searches. Suggestions welcome.

Every new “hidden” space in the house we discover has had crap dumped in it. There aren’t any modern extensions. It’s all old buildings. We need to make a better hatch opening to get in the limited loft space. Once we get in I can pull the green rolls and insulation off cuts out and address the felt. I hope it’s boarded up so we can get in. Sign. Another project.

Given the quality of work in some of the finishes, I’ll put it down to poor workmanship. If we get inside the loft, can we just tack down where it has come away?

We finally gained access to our limited loft space and have two initial questions. 1. We found loads of rolls of this green stuff. We can’t reach them. Does anyone know what they may be? 2. The black lining that runs under the roof - what is it’s purpose? It’s also come away in a couple of places. More questions are bound to follow.

Right, so I’ll maximize flow through all our rads... and see what transpires.

When we were down south, friends of ours went hunting and gave us two mallards. We plucked and butchered them. A lot of work. There was hardly any meat on them - the meat was incredibly rich. We will just have ours for viewing pleasure - the chicks were super cute and feasted on the mosquitos.

If pallet wood is a no go, is treated timber the next option? Is boat/marine varnish eco-ish? Does it sweep off the wood? Since I hope to make my house hover-float, there should be minimal water contact from the base. Is it the rain and damp that would damage the pallet wood?

I think it was the foxes that got them last year. As soon as they started venturing off the pond they were nabbed.
