  1. Has anyone needed to re-seal their shipping container door with new rubber seals? If so, which adhesive did you use, please?
  2. Oh Dear, Never Mind. Whaaaat A Shame!
  3. Yep, I agree. I've asked him for a go in it - and so far he's always refused. I'm working on it though.
  4. It's the 60 tonner quarry bucket under the front axle that gets me......
  5. I've tried for a year not to post this image. I just couldn't take the pressure any more. Goggle and weep. This where I get my hardcore - and a lot more. A lot more The keys are in the ignition, there's a copy of the Daily Mirror on the dash. Please don't tell anyone.
  6. Hmmmmm. Someone will pile in with the physics and maths of this. If a Landy can do it, so can many other vehicles I suppose. Nowt much special about Landies...... mine (all of them) irritates (..ed) the Hell out of me; the sloppiness in the build, the dreadful design, the leaks [in and out], but worst of all my own utter mindless stupidity in buying many. It (currently a 90) regularly ruins my back, throws a hissy, grabs me by the throat with the number of false earths, drinks diesel like an Oil Sheikh. There are so many better designed, cheaper, more reliable Japanese equivalents. OK their fuel figures have been fixed, but hey, even Germans play that game. Apart from that they're fine
  7. Eeeeer! Do you lot work for the Irish Tourist Board eh?
  8. Well SwissCheese, neither do I. My fingertips are burning a bit... a producer identifying the specification necessary. Hmm, I'd wonder about that.
  9. KISS. I hadn't thought of that.....
  10. Many people have benefited from this resource in the past, and I am sure will do so in the future. So I have pinned this post.
  11. I'd like to add my congratulations too!
  12. Hhhhhhhhh....... mmmmmm.... nnnn.... Now, what that solicitor's number...?
  13. Brilliant. Just like being back in the Army. Check your OP for light...... and an excuse to go and buy those LED floods.... excellent...
  14. Ah, yeah, forgot that... I've got a spare fan or two and a seventeenth hand solar panel...Thanks!
  15. Ahhh, filling cracks, the sheer delight of that process. I just lurve it.
  16. What are friends for? They are the ones who come to your gate, ostensibly for a natter, and say "Well, yer not going to want to hear this, but......" Yes, I haven't lined my containers ... yet. Oh that most important little word. YET. And now's the time to prepare for winter. John's (my mate) absolutely right. I have to line it Off to the BM, and bought myself £81 quids worth of pure joy. And on the way back fell to wondering what to stick between the ply and the container, if anything at all. Bitpipe I remember bought a DampStick. And on his recommendation I bought one.... haven't used it yet. I've bought some 5.5mm ply and some 2 by 2. I've researched the issue on Tinternet (YooChube) here, here and here (the last of these YT vids is eye-opening for me anyway) and on Goooooogle and this article seems to be the most objective one of all. Lining it with mud is one option, I understand. Hmmm, that's got potential hasn't it? But there's nothing about lining a container for OUR needs. So, with luck I feel a checklist coming on. Anyone got any ideas, tips, please?
  17. Got me hooked , too.
  18. It's called Joined-Up-Thinking. How desperately damn stupid.
  19. Oh, and if you get your electricity through a Bulk supplier (PM for details if you like) you get 5% off at B+Q. So, what happens if I go on a Wednesday? Get 15%? (I might be over 60 if you look at me in the dark)
  20. You know how to tweak a man's ire don'tcha? Still, if I can't take a joke, I shouldn't have applied for PP should I?
  21. And that's what we are working towards. As sheer luck would have it we have an area of garden (orchard) that was a deep 'pit'. The previous owner filled it in with rubble, hardcore, gravel, the odd old gate post and dozens of tonnes of mushroom compost. And we've had a trial pit dug to 2 meters + (the original level) to look at the water table level. To date completely dry, even in heavy persistent rain. Talk about lucky........
  22. Hmm, a very important lesson for everyone Dave. Silly, isn't it that the regulations vary by administrative area rather than the local geology.
