Haha, it’s massively annoying me! Thinking about getting rid of that right hand socket skimming over and repainting the wall
-
2nd fix now complete so all up and running Slightly annoying TV is not center of sockets but was stuck with batten position, if it annoys me too much I will ditch the right hand socket

Will do but doubt they will pay for the decorator to sort the issue unfortunately! Is there some sort of a blocker I can paint on to stop it showing through then repaint the ceiling for the third time

Afternoon all, Wonder if anyone has any advice. recently had the garage decorated in grey and found a couple of hairline cracks. The painter fillered these first time around but they came back. After some some advice I went with Geocel decorators mate as it’s flexible Had the ceiling re painted last night and unfortunately it’s left a shadow where the painters mate has been applied, same happened to me years ago painting over culk. Do I need to put some sort of under coat on or strip it all back and start again? Annoyed as I applied the decorators mate and was concerned about it showing through but shop advised it would be fine. Thanks for any pointers

Will never forgive myself for choosing white on inside of the side garage door now! wanted the grey but was an added cost at the end of the build and was saving money! Can you get them sprayed successfully?

Lighting all connected up now and decorated (last coat going on now) went RAL 7030 to match the house doors and garage roller doors on walls and ceiling. Hope to get the sockets in tomorrow and tv working etc Fingers crossed wifi booster socket gives enough signal

Ah that’s what I was worried about Mike. Think I best leave it then

Evening all, Im just waiting to get my oak framed garage interior painted and was thinking of using danish oil on the exposed oak before the walls are painted. Some of the danish oil will end up on the fresh plaster, would anyone happen to know if this will cause issues for the decorator? Was wondering if the water based paint may not adhere to the oil on the plaster? many thanks for any pointers

They are £4.75 per tile at 400x400 Dave, managed a small discount also on the final price

Started installing the tuff tiles today but ran out of time to continue the first bay! Excellent service from Brendan thoroughly recommended if anyone is considering them! https://tuff-tile.com/contact-us/

Thanks Kelvin, i used this stuff as meant I did not need to PVA the floor prior. Just watered it down 40/60 ratio for first coat second coat on now so that will do! Hopefully tiles will be here start of next week. Will get that half laid then switch all the junk from the other side and paint that.

Excellent thanks, will order a few roles

Thankyou, take it that shouldn’t leave any residue on the timber?

Morning all, We are having our oak frame garage plastered in a couple of weeks. Would it be work masking the timber off to avoid it getting covered in plaster? Not sure if plaster ends up on the wood will it stain/ mark it? If so are there any pointers for cost effective masking? Normal tape seems to peel off the wood after a short time! Cheers for any pointers

Screed went down in November and floor was laid in April I think. Although don’t think heating was commissioned at this point.

Boards are not stuck down for info

Ah strange! You could just retro fit them after!

It’s on concrete Dave with UFH. Was fine when first laid . If it was just the bow I wouldn’t mind too much but it’s the plank further back that’s a worry as must of snapped the tongue and groove type click system for it to push up as it has. Was going to get Karndean but internet designer talked us out of it! Guessing it won’t be just paint skirting though it will take chunks out of the walls at the same time

Plastering finally finished, don’t fancy doing that again in a hurry! That meant I could lay the 200mm insulation on the roof. decided to use Egger 22mm flooring so we have some storage. Only did 2 rows in the end as was concerned about the extra weight (although roof beams are 250mm)

Incase anyone else gets this issue we managed to get a rehau rep out last week. basically inside bars were cut too long and outside ones not installed with correct fasteners!

House still under years warranty with builder although we did supply the flooring from Ambience. currently in discussion with the builder so ok at the moment. Worse in the hotter weather but it still has some bounce on it in the winter. No bifolds we’re installed at time of the new build. Being told a larger expansion gap can be made ideally but we would have to pay for this and then with skirting coming off the room would need re painting no doubt. They followed the install instructions so not sure if there is anything we can do really
