Few more finishing touches. Porch complete, used a black limestone to tie in with the roof slates. Installed bespoke aged copper splash back from Halman Thompson (looks darker in photos), and another coat of danish oil on the worktops. Still awaiting the window arches being complete to sign the house off, hopefully be done towards the end of the month. Gates and chestnut fencing also being installed towards end of month.

Returning a used washing machine?

Thanks Dave that must be what it is Never had a washer drier so was also thinking why is there is no lint filter etc, just assumed it was the correct washing machine only -
Returning a used washing machine?

I was just concerned I could not separate the two cycles but seems you can. Its more a time thing as we do a lot of washing so don’t really want the machine tied up for the drying cycle. Its integral but can’t see a vent or water collection point to see which type it is! We do also have a heat pump dryer -
Returning a used washing machine?

Had a good read of the instructions now and seems easy enough to use without the drier function so may as well stick with it -
Morning all, Having some bad luck with our new build at the moment! Latest issue is the washing machine. We ordered the machine a while ago, first one was delivered but heavily damaged, so after a few emails it was replaced. When the next one was ordered I sent the item number info from inside the washing machine door to the company and they re ordered. All good I thought! New one turns up looks the same but no dents so the kitchen fitters installed the machine. We have used it for the first time today and noticed the clothes came out dry. On inspection this machines part number is one letter different and is the washer drier version. Would there be anything I can do in this situation? No doubt most places will only return if item not used Many thanks for any pointers

Yes ours overrun by a few months unfortunately so ended up paying extra rent we could have done without. Our delay was entrance doors which held up site being secure for kitchen fitting etc Hope it all comes together for you! Jury is out on the black sanitary where until we start using it. We do have a water softener so hopefully it will be bearable. Although tried to set up softener yesterday and have no power so think the plug is faulty (awaiting a new one now)

More or less complete now, moved back in yesterday. Few small snags to get house signed off, just waiting on porch access being completed then we should be done! Couple more bills to go before I can see how badly we went over budget but estimating 30k. Run out of money to insulate and board the garage. Was hoping to have some money for gravel drive and patio but they will have to wait now.

From doing some research looks like I will need to try and cut in a breather membrane on the uprights on cladding side (wish they had done this before cladding!) Then pir insulation Then vapour barrier Then plasterboard Would anyone happen to know if moisture resistant plasterboard would still be required if a vapour barrier is used? Many thanks for any help

Morning, yes have insulated roller doors on now, looking to install 1 maybe 2 oil filled rads in there.

Evening all, Wonder if you can help. Our house and garage build is complete and one item I was looking to decide on towards the end was insulating and plaster boarding the garage. Unfortunately the builder has moved on to other projects now so doesn’t really have the manning available to complete the extra work. Im just looking to retain a-bit of heat not be fully air tight etc The garage is wood clad with no membrane currently on the walls. Ceiling was going to be plaster boarded the wool type insulation added which is fairly simple. My main question is what do I do with the walls? Plan was 50mm celotex type insulation but do I need any breather membrane or in-permeable membrane in there some where? If so would this go between the cladding and celotex or between the celotex and plasterboard? Plaster board, would this need to be foil backed? Thanks for any pointers, never done anything like this before!

Problem is I’m now worried about unscrewing them and leaving the obvious sheen marks when I touch up, but it does seem the sheen marks are limited to the dark blues used in lounge and main bedroom. The interior designer we used has great feedback but we were backed into a corner as our builders normal decorator had no availability due to our house incurring delays so had to sort something fairly swiftly. The interior designer managed to move jobs about to squeeze us in which was really helpful. The only way I can really see the sheen spots being sorted is to paint the complete wall again. In my head I think it’s reasonable to ask them to do this, clean all the hinges and fittings and then accept I will have to sort some of the cutting in and drop all the sockets etc and refinish to the standard I want.

Morning all, We are just about to complete our build but I’m having issues with the decorating standards. Im quite picky with things so have tried to cut some slack as I have learnt over the course of the build that things are rarely perfect and I need to accept that. That being said, some things I feel have been done to a poor standard. Before the guys started a mist coat had already been sprayed on by another company so it was purely any filing and final colours. We used Dulux heritage paint throughout so not cheap paint. Would it be normal to leave sockets/ light switch fascias in place and mask around rather than pull away from the wall then refit? As they have been left in place there is now a build up of paint around the switches etc that does not look great. Some switches have paint on as does some of the matt black door hinges. Not the end of the world as guess it will come off as paint is water based but should it have been left like that? Lounge dimmer switch was the worst example which has been sorted but cutting in on door frame remains Some areas of cutting in really not great in my opinion Any area of wall they have touched up seems to be leaving a sheen spot which is really annoying (not sure if this is normal in touch ups?) I have followed up once with them on the issues but they have not seemed to resolve them, I’d just like to know is it me being picky? As wife is happy with it all. Many thanks for any feedback!

Rads now in, had to unfortunately pay a fair premium to get them done in pebble grey but look good. Just an issue to sort on the Terma en-suite towel rail as annoyingly supplied right handed rather than left handed the I specified so can complete heating system.
