still waiting for windows but once fitted was wondering if the mhvr unit would be an easy way to suck the air out if I block the inlet...would it achieve sufficient depressurisation?

I know it is hard to believe. Plasterers are probably just looking for the easiest cash just as most of the trades are ( at highly inflated rates). three were just very open about there skill levels and did I want it flat and level, then best have dot and dab!

Well on with my build which is masonry block wall with warm flat roof...but i have issue with the airtightness of walls and roof as the roofer seemed to take umbrage with me telling him how I wanted it doing and I could not be there all the time to check. I can not get wet plaster as all the old boys have gone and the younger guys are pricing to avoid (although some have said nobody has the skill nowadays) so will be going dry lining route. Walls are thomas Armstrong ultralites, I have parged them with cement slurry and soudal lq around sockets, cable chases and floor to wall junction but wondering if I should give it a second slurry coat? although the plasterers have all said a waste of time and they will just fully adhere around board edges and socket and cable runs. Any input/advice gratefully received. Regarding ceiling void, I have used a double layer of butyl around joists and used soudal SWS foam along edges of osb roof deck to wall connection- I recently had EPS bead blown in cavity and checked connection for leakage while air pressure was high in cavity with no leakage apparent, but not 100% happy that the OSB deck would be fully airtight although it has bitumen vcl above... I am thinking I should make the ceiling plasterboard a secondary airtight layer if possible. Again any advice would be helpful. Q. anybody know where I can get airtight tape for plaster boards? as I need to seal ceiling boards to partition walls and seal all joints.

Ten peneth... Stable units are not under Part Q PD as not agricultural (unless you have the horses ploughing fields). I am replacing my old stable (in Greenbelt ) as a knock down and replace with a new dwelling as is allowed in NPPF. Better to build new than fanny about with conversions which I have previous experience of + you benefit from being able to sell it independently of the main house which you can not do with an annex.

Just finished fitting manifolds and ducting in closed ceiling...and then thought how do you clean the ducts. Does any one leave an access panel to get to manifolds? or can they be cleaned without having to disconnect radial duct?

seen the posts of problems finding a coring bit for 125mm pipe which is internal diameter....Has anyone found an alternative method or pipe for easier installation? I found 125mm p10 pipe which is 125 eternal diam and which the duct pipe would fit over but the wall is 5mm thick so loosing 200mm2 cross sectional area (12271 against 10028) but I am not using all the manifold connections for internal ducts. Considering the loss of possible flow against the ease of installation should Is this a sensible option?

Recommended door companies for low u-value airtight front door? I'm struggling to find a reasonably priced low u value airtight door, just a straight forward multi panel looking unit with traditional handles and no window ( and not imitation wood grain). standard door opening of 910 x 2100 unfortunately, something the architect neglected in design! and negates having a very thick door because of part m.

Looking at a Vent axia lo carbon kinect bh at £600 inc Vat...its 'new in box' but has been installed and never run so technically used according to seller and probably no warranty from vent axia. The company ( air con specialists) had 30 so it sounds like a incorrect technical spec on supply. Is it worth a punt as possibly no warranty but £500 after I reclaim vat.

It would cause issues with earth bonding and difference in potentials. I could only think you would require it if the incoming power is live only and has no neutral/earth like taking a feed from an ancient supply line.

I am on first fix and UFH installation. I am running system as single zone with slab sensor at around 20c, I also want to distribute water around the circuit during summer as I have high solar gain from windows. Does anyone know of a thermostat that has high low temp settings/switching and 2 controller wire connections so it can switch pump on at high temperature without switching boiler on... Something like an american style heat/aircon thermostat maybe.

If your properties are registered with Land Registry then adverse possession will not just happen...the possessor has to register the land taken with Land Registry who contact the original owner and give two years to reject the possession. The other issue is the planning department...technically a fence or hedge does not mean demarcation of land ownership boundary so the planning should not presume the neighbour is correct with his complaint...its for your neighbour to prove the legal boundary position if he wishes the council to believe him.
