  1. Excellent info, thank you. What’s your thoughts on the Passive versus the High Performance systems? I can’t decide if the 15% price difference is worth it in the long run.
  2. @garrymartin Interested to know what they said. My last quote from them for our 180sqm two storey home was £132k for the passive frame, and £44k for the passive foundation. £20k less for the High Performance frame.
  3. Fair point. I have a plant room for my MHVR and DHW tank with the ASHP attached to the wall outside, so I have plenty of options for venting the MHVR. Just asking if I need to avoid venting over the ASHP so I have my answer, thanks!
  4. Apologies for resurrecting this post, but my question is similar. From what I read here, there is no downside to routing my MHVR exhaust to flow out through my ASHP (vent out behind the ASHP). There might a small marginal gain but if the effort/cost is minimal then I might as well do it. Correct?
  5. Ok, I’m definitely going to rely on a professional 😂
  6. Will do. When I had the Dewalt machine - which cost twice as much so I returned it - the manual had a calibration check like that. Will try it out next time I'm on site where I have the space.
  7. That’s great advice, thank you. I know just what you mean after my first attempt. Consistency must be key, and physical markers have their part to play.
  8. Fair points. I haven’t evaluated its accuracy so will not bet the house on it. Even then I don’t trust my skills here so I will leave the real surveying to the ground works contractor as there’s a main sewer to move as well as prepping for the foundation pad.
  9. Used my Heupar S04CG-5RG to do a basic (very) survey of my site. It worked very well once I got the hang of using the receiver. Seems to have a reliable range in sunlight of at least 30m.
  10. Thanks all. I just returned the Dewalt DCLE34031N and the matching receiver for the Huepar S04CG-5RG. Half the price for much better features and similar performance (less range so need to check on-site that it’s enough). The Huepar seems sturdy enough compared to the Dewalt.
  11. @richo106 How did you get on with the Huepar 603CG?
  12. Now you’ve lived with this for a while, would you still recommend it? Thanks!
  13. It’s a hard and expensive slog for us too!
  14. Hi @JohnnyB We are also awaiting planning for our timber frame build in Hintlesham IP8. This is round 2 so hoping to get it this time. Researching passive foundations, timber frame and window suppliers at the moment while we wait.
  15. @Nick Laslett I’m in Suffolk. Could you share the local firm you used for groundwork’s please?
  16. I was convinced timber frame was the way to go for my new home but having second thoughts after getting some expensive quotes. Now looking to get some quotes for building in ICF. Could anyone point me at good ICF suppliers or builders serving Suffolk please?
  17. Sounds good. So you gave up on the idea of ducting behind the cladding? Did you cap the ends of your through-wall ducting with insulating foam after pulling the wires through? Just wondering about thermal bypass risk
  18. Hi @thefoxesmaltings Did you find a safe solution the end? Your build looks amazing BTW 👏🏻
  19. Hi @markharro. What did you do in the end?
  20. Sorry, no answers from me as I have the same question. Planning a new build which will have a separate garage-workshop so considering my options for heating and ventilation (including dust extraction). Any advice would be appreciated.
  21. How did it go? Still happy with them?
