Internorm Front Door Block - It's stuck!
canalsiderenovation replied to canalsiderenovation's topic in Doors & Door Frames
It's not wired in yet! -
We have spent 48 hours in the house and our plumbing is concerning us. Yesterday we have come to use our dishwasher and it showed up with an error. The manual suggests this issue. The plumber is suggesting he tested it on a rinse cycle and it was fine. Granted the dishwasher did come from an ex display so had some use but it worked. When I messaged him he said "Yes did a full rinse cycle made sure it pumped out etc, no error code, check for leak in cupboard, failing that maybe a problem with the unit itself......" And "also for your info, last 4 installs of similar set up we had much bigger unit to fit it all in, and it did not come pre made up!! In my professional opinion it requires more space for this set up". Now the kitchen place had the exact same set up with the Quooker and dishwasher (which was functional) and managed to fit everything in their 600mm unit plus some cleaning products. I'm not sure what I'm looking for because everything is a mess. Can anyone help identify what I should do, if anything. He's indicating it's basically our problem. I've taken the Cube out and this is what we have. We also noticed in our utility that the washing machine and pipework all seems to be a bit of a mess as well. Perhaps I'm being over dramatic. You know we had issues with the Quooker tap previously leaking and since have advertised the copper pipe working was for support which looks a bit of a bodge and could be easily knocked. Still have issues where hose won't pull out. This is maximum we can pull it out but he has point blank refused to sort this basically saying it's as "good as it gets". Pressure for cold and sparking water is very low as is the hot water (via Quooker/Cube). We have had ongoing issues with leaks or things not quite right which have been rectified in the past week but now, whilst we await his bill we just need to know if we should be calling him back, telling him we aren't paying his bill til we are happy or getting someone else to do it. His excuse for anything is that it isn't right, wasn't new or didn't have instructions. We both have that little faith in his work we don't want him back but neither are we going to pay a bill and another bill from another plumber if he should be back to put it right. ???

Cost of Electricity

I've been with them since 2019 and had no issues but then I submit meter readings online. -
Help! Our ovens are stuck in Demo mode! The manual suggests there is a turn off demo mode in settings but there isn't anything in settings that mentions demo mode and we can't get it off and basically have no ovens to cook anything in! I spent the whole night trawling through manuals and Google and can't find the answer and Siemens isn't contactable til Monday.

Cost of Electricity
canalsiderenovation replied to canalsiderenovation's topic in Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)
Thank you I'll get one if the neighbour hasn't got one. For the small bathroom that feels cold I've noticed if I do raise the temperature the flame comes on so that's working. I'll get that thermometer. It's just getting used to this different system I guess I just though with every room being set to 22 degrees it would feel the same! -

Yep they are I have their page instruction guide here and have programmed them all manual rather than the auto setting. The room temperature is showing as 22 degrees and if I whack it up then the flame appears I'm just not convinced all rooms are at 22 degrees when some floors are warm and some are completely cold and the rooms feel cold. Need a thermometer -

I agree, but we needed it for our RHI claim. -

Our hall is toasty, probably as our manifold is in there and it's the main point but some rooms are noticeably different in temperature. What I don't get is the kitchen says 22 degrees and the floor is warm, the small bathroom says 22 degrees and it's really cold, no warmth in floors at all. -

Well one room is saying 22 degrees but it's bloody cold when I go in there (small bathroom). It's set to 'air sensor using built in sensor' and we have an manual mode where it's set to 22 degrees for all rooms. I should say initially we had the auto setting where each day had 6 programmes with times but since that picture was taken I have take it off the auto and manually set every one to 22 degrees. -

No! We are in the process of moving back in now although have a long snagging list. I'm still trying to get my head around all 11 of these controls which are all at 22 degrees but what I can't understand is some floors are completely cold even though the thermostat says 22 degrees but perhaps it is sensing the overall temperature..... -

A quick look and Symbio has an Economy 7 option which is 12.980 p/kWh for both E7 and normal rate versus our current 14.594p/kWh but has a large standing charge of 21.100 versus our current 13.780. -

That's what the EPC guy came up with who came a week ago but he was a bit useless (I guess that's what you get for paying £45 for an EPC) and not the heat pump design spec which I said in my first post. Strangely I've just checked the design for the heat pump and the spec and gives different figures. -
Now we have our heat pump commissioned (our solar is being connected first week in Jan with the Solic200 to divert excess to the hot water). I just now to figure out what we should do with our electricity tarrif. As we are both pretty much in all the time now with work abandoning offices in favour of home working and our temps all set at a cosy 22 degrees I need to look at making sure we are paying as less as we can for our electricity. We are with the same company we were a year ago and are currently paying 14.594 p/kWh and 13.780p a day standing charge which after some comparisons seems to be really competitive and quotes I've had seem to bring up savings of less than £50 a year and with a company with poor service. Our ASHP spec gives figures of 19693.0 kWh per year space heating and water heating 2998.0 kWh per year. Rachel

LED Lights from Battery

Electrician came today and he is going to wire them up instead as there is going to be a light switch moved so it's an easy job apparently! -
LED Lights from Battery
canalsiderenovation replied to canalsiderenovation's topic in Electrics - Other
Yes some form of transformer I recall seeing but as it was in a line of three units from our ex display kitchen and we only used two, this was used by the spark to wire up the two units in the kitchen. The lights I can't seem to actually see aside from the wife it's those strip leds. -
Ok so this is one we are hoping to sort ourselves. We had a spare cupboard left from our kitchen and it has LED Lights built in which you touch to turn on, pic below of cupboards in our kitchen. We weren't going to use the spare one but not wanting to waste anything we incorporated it into our utility, last minute decision. Pic below (work in progress but it's the middle one). Whilst not necessarily essential we use the LED lights under the one middle cupboard it would be good if we could but obviously as we never planned to have lights there this is an afterthought. Would it be possible to wire up to a battery? Here is the wiring attached to the cupboard. Suggestions please.

A qualified plumber..

The Quooker tap is spitting and spluttering which basically he has no idea why.... And we can't get filtered cold water from the Cube and again he has no idea why. -

He's back tomorrow he just rung me now and I've gone through a list. What bugs me is I know the chip wasn't there on Tuesday night as I was on my hands and knees next to it cleaning the loo and by Wednesday tea time it was chipped and he was the only tradesman in there. I told him I'm not happy. @ProDave is there something in particular I need to ask him to do in relation to the toilet/cabinet? -

I'm just so angry today, amongst the things the plumber did actually do yesterday he was sealing toilet in ensuite yesterday and was the only person in the ensuite, no one else is in this section of the house so we know it's him. He managed to chip our Roper Rhodes cabinet (conveniently forgot to mention) and look at that panel, edge is sticking out and bottom is pushed in. Am I being dramatic? He's not showed up today either. It seems everything he has touched he has either not been able to do, bodged it, not done it properly or damaged it. If he's complained we have bought replacement items but I'm seriously at the end of my tether with him. -
Where can I get these products urgently?

All sorted. Got them now everything coming tomorrow. -
