  1. Ah I've found something else now in the handover pack.
  2. I'll check our variable tarrifs. I've found some information from the MCS installers.
  3. We were using 300 units a month not a week pre renovation! We only had our immersion on as and when pre renovation not consistently.
  4. We were using a max of 300 units a month and both working from home. We didn't have any heating as such as it was knackered oil so just used the woodburner or layered up but we had an electric shower and the water was all heated by immersion and we had all inefficient appliances and an oven which took an hour minimum to cook anything no matter what and we were paying the same rates as now. I've turned all the room thermostats right down to 20.5 degrees now but now thinking I'll go down more. At this cost I'd turn the heating off completely and just burn wood! We still turn TVs off from standby but we have got now appliances on standby and the coffee machine and Quooker gets a lot of use.
  5. Erm, how do I find this info out? I'm panicking! Probably before as we were only using about 250 units a month albeit we only had a stove for heating and our hot water was immersion/electric shower. I'm reducing all temperatures now to 19 degrees on the thermostat. The hot water we don't mess with and that comes from our heat pump. £100+ a week in electricity seems crazy.
  6. I'm a bit concerned on our electricity use. We moved back into our house over Christmas and the ASHP was commissioned early December. We have had the heating on 22 degrees with the room thermostats set at this temperature. I took a meter reading on 7th Jan and it was 09359.1 and today it's 09945.3. This seems an awful lot in just over a week *slightly panicking and thinking we need to reduce our temperature* Alongside this our fix is up for renewal and I've been looking at tarrifs. We both work from home and we have (or will have soon once the electrician recovers from Covid) the solar working and the Solic 200 to divert excess to the Immersion. Whilst I don't think Economy 7 will suit our lives I've been comparing tarrifs. Bear in mind we have never lived in an all electric house it's a bit difficult Symbio has a 12 month fix at 14.678pkw and 19.500 per day standing charge but Octopus seems to be as competitive with the Octopus Go charging 14.63pkw day and 5.00 during the hours of 00:30-04:30. Even if we don't use it during these hours the day rate is still competitive and we could set timers to charge things up. The standing charge is more expensive at 25.00 a day against Symbio but this Octopus still seems decent. Finally, do we have a smart meter? I think it was installed by the last owner because we haven't done anything.
  7. How do I convert to cubic meters?
  8. Wife now thinks she may have been in shower over 20 minutes so it could be she completely used up all the water! This hasn't happened when I've had a big bath and she had the large showerhead on and the Mira shower is really powerful. I should have got on the app whilst she was in and adjusted the temperature to cold.....
  9. Hmm so it seems to be almost a third of the way up. Tank height 197cm and that flexi is 68cm. I can't see any lower point - there are higher points not lower ones. I'm presuming it's as good as it gets as it is?
  10. No small wire I can see you less you mean the black one? Water is back hot again so it may be the wife used all 400 litres which seems crazy.
  11. So, wife had a shower, washed hair face mask etc. She says around 15 mins max. Around 10 minutes later I went to wash my hands and hot water is cold. Even now hot water is only lukewarm. We have the washing machine on but that's it. With the best will in the world I don't think anyone can use 400litres in a shower. Do we need to ask Alto to come out and look at our ASHP? We still don't have the solar up and running and excess diverting to the immersion as our builder tested positive for Covid today so now pretty much all of them are self isolating!
  12. This is our front door. In the absence of any LVT what would you say is the best option? This is only very small so would hardwood be OK again or is there anything else which would work?
  13. She doesn't think it would look right is the response and 'what if we change the floor' (it's only just bloody gone down)!! The trims we have between the utility and hall LVT are a kind of brushed steel aluminum so I quote 'something like that' . . . @Redoctober that is a bit bigger than what I was hoping for. The smaller the better to be honest! We don't have any other 'wood' looking stuff and UPVC could be an option I guess but the option by to cover timber suggested by @Roundtuit could work. Or get the timber bonded and screwed into the concrete like @PeterW suggested then if she wants to keep painting it a grey/black colour to match the floor she can do it (or if she isn't in when the flooring company come back I'll just get them to do it and have the telling off after)! We have a similar issue with our front door but this is a different LVT and we don't have flooring left!
  14. If I didn't want to use LVT (other half would prefer not to use the flooring don't know why) would it be possible to just paint it grey/black?
  15. Yes we do and the flooring company has to return too as some of the LVT tiles have a fault which the company have are paying for the faulty tiles to be lifted and replaced. Could be an option I can ask the builders to put a piece of hardwood onto it.
  16. This is the utility and inside of our composite stable door which was a bit smaller than initially planned as we got a great deal on an ex display door. Advice please on any sort of trim we can use or what do do to tidy up this inside. Our LVT flooring was laid when this was fitted and it now looks a bit of a mess ? Builders are continuing to work through snagging list next week but I don't know what to do with this.....
  17. We are also both working from home, I would be normally anyway but there are both of us with multiple Skype and MS Teams meetings we can be in different rooms/other side of the bungalow. I've got the TP mesh things ordered and the Ubiquiti so I need to get them both out and see which works best then send the other back to Amazon.
  18. We can't get Virgin here ? Our WiFi has never been particularly good here and we have had the somewhat basic plug in Netgear boosters before we had the building work done with almost no effect. Fingers crossed one of these work better.
  19. I'm a her! I've ordered the TP mesh system (1-2 bedrooms) and the Ubiquiti and will see which is better. Just ran a speed test.
  20. What sort of mesh system do you recommend, just curious for price comparison I can always try this sort of system and the Ubiquiti and see what is best.
  21. Indeed BT have this package but they charge a small fortune for it and I don't want to be stuck with BT. We only went with them as it was free for connecting our line as oppose to the £70 others wanted and they promised us a minihub whilst we were waiting to be connected and we got a reasonable fibre deal but I won't be staying with them long term. Let's hope the Ubiquiti is good I've ordered it from Amazon.
  22. I think I'd rather go for the Ubiquiti for less than £70 if it's a decent piece of kit as we have a real dead zone this end of the house and we can wall mount it too. We have two other Ethernet sockets so it may be we have it in a more central place (living room) if it reaches to the bedroom as well. So I presume we put the circle bit into the Ethernet socket and then the socket connect the other end to the router. Plenty of sockets spaces on our router as we only have the Three mobile booster at the moment. I can get it from Amazon and get it before Thursday as this is when the spark returns to sort out the Ethernet and outstanding stuff.
  23. Finally we got our BT line connected. We suffer generally with poor Wifi and non existent mobile coverage due to our location but I'm pleased to report we have 4 devices connected so which is enabling us to work and watch Netflix! I've not tried the wifi coffee machine or ovens yet on the basis I can't think why I'd need wifi on them! The bedroom/dressing room is the furthest away point and we have no wifi at all. I did take advice and get Cat5/6 whatever it was put in the dressing room (where we may eventually have a TV), in the living room and at the opposite end of the house in a guess bedroom ( the latter two of which are fine on WiFi and closer to the router). So, what can I buy that will give me wifi in the bedroom to plug into this socket/Ethernet? Any particular brands or equipment I should focus on? I think @AliG had some kind of booster and @PeterW I'm sure I read you have similar?
  24. Yes from the treatment plant, info the chamber then onto the leach field is correct. What I need to get sorted is if it could be done better and it's not right what can be done to improve it? I can then tell them what I want putting right, any help appreciated!
