Getting closer to plastering stage now, will be getting a crew in but am wondering which mix is better white sand, white cement, white chip (10mm) or grey sand, cement, any 10mm chip and lime. Looking for a bright white finish. If going the 1st mix is there need for lime? I know that whichever crew we go with will most likely know but would like to know for myself, thanks.

Noticed some out our cills are damp on the cavity side also some of the dpc also has moisture on them. Outside not plastered yet, could this be the cause. Please see pics.

There was a gap left over each window/door where dpc comes out, due to nothing to foam against. Am thinking of cutting a piece of PIR to fit in from inside up to the inner face of outer leaf ontop of window so there is something to foam against. As PIR has a different u value to dritherm 37 would there be any issues in doing so? Also any ideas how to keep pir in place?

Anyone know if it's OK to blow cellouse onto cable without conduit?

Thanks @Iceverge, will be starting the reveals this week, this is a great help. Just wondering would 15mm PB on reveals be better or not?

25mm window board as it seems to be the most common

32mm, but I cut the innerleaf block down about 15mm so 47 ish, hard to hold a consaw in the horizontal position:-)

Thanks lads, Will have a look tomorrow, would CT1 really be strong enough to hold the bead? Herself has suggested cutting OSB and slipping it in behind the straps on the jambs and screwing through the straps to hold OSB in place and then sticking plasterboard to that. Would imagine that we'd need to put membrane on first before fitting OSB. An option or just extra work?

Face drained window and lime stone cill. Tbh never heard of an extension until reading your post. Am I right in saying drill the cill to mount L bracket to and then screw up into window frame? Now that you mention lockable handles, never occurred to me, none of the windows have them, is this something that I should have requested or something that should have been provided?

Thanks, Originally ply/osb boxes were to cantilever off inner leaf butting up to frame of window. Due to strapping sloping up toward the bottom of window this cannot be achieved as the straps will fowl the ply/osb. How do I overcome this? Will the straps need to be removed?
-
70mm from opening sash as the inner leaf opening was 20mm wider each side. The bottom section of inside leaf was cut down so approx 50mm to th bottom of opening sash.
-
Will take a couple of pics tomorrow as I've nothing encompassing the whole opening. As it stands due to having cut the inner leaf lower(to allow clearance for the sash to open) the osb will foul on the straps before reaching the window frame, top and bottom. Some windows are fixed pane so should be no issue if these straps I.e. top/bottom were removed. But the larger windows that do open there may be an issue due to the weight and twist over time. Any suggestions?

Apologies for late response @Iceverge. So major F...up. The plan was as per one of your drawings below, based on windows being fixed with right angled brackets to inner side of outer leaf. Instead the crew fixed long straps bridging the cavity to inner leaf see pics. Now in the position that we cannot box out reveal due to the angle that the straps ar fitted. What are my options here, not adverse to getting them removed and re fitted. I imagine there are alot of cold bridges introduced as a result of strapping.

Ah OK, too late for that now. They have fitted a compacfoam variant to the frames, not sure how much of a thermal break that is if even.

Will probably need to pack out with pir from the inside in order to have something to render to. The sliding door also has 12mm gap in the head. Peed off that i never thought to drop the lintels down 20mm as I made the outer leaf 40mm narrower for the frames to butt up against.
-
Didn't go with premade boxes after. Will fit insitu, osb as I've loads left from covering window opes. 20/25 mm strip of eps around reveal before plastering?
-
Embarrassing, the lintel is off.

I guess, but it's a pita when it happens to yourself. To be fair the other two windows they put in were fine.
