  1. No problem- new trap £4 so off to buy one. Z
  2. Ok thanks- I had no idea how much pressure this drain pump is, basically my the thinking you see. Will do as you suggest & zip tie it/ if any issue I can shorten it later I guess. Cheers, zoot
  3. Hi dpm, So left as is, the big loop is definitely no issue?
  4. Chaps, finally removed the u-bend trap section. Cleaned up ( no blockage) & refitting to the long underneath bath pipe, the black ring seal thing has fouled/ split. Much swearing. Can you get new black seal rings?? Or do I have to now replace the whole u-bend trap section?
  5. I don't know if it's blocked is the point though. How do I determine if it is or not? Bent u-shaped cost hanger in the u-bend trap section? I can't then get at the next long bath length pipe section, & I also can't get at the final vertical outside section exiting the water into the drain grate.
  6. Good plan. Ok so do know then that it's -not- a good idea having this loop then? Common sense might say it isn't, but I'm cutting off most of this grey pipe doing this.. leaving just 12". Does that seem right to you? Kinda seems rather drastic/ wrong/ but I can't see any other option apart from leaving as is, with this big loop. This pipe starts inside the machine, so no 2nd chances to redo it if I cut it.
  7. Hi tennents, if I do this the pipe sits 500mm high/ proud of the WM. According to www info, the WM drain pipe should insert only about 5" down the wall white pipe, so as not to affect any exiting water. So if I do this, I have a big loop. What do I do with this loop?
  8. Hi chaps, Im going plumbing potty today.. 2 threads. Simple question if I may: got new WM, all in place, it's grey 1" corrugated waste pipe exits the WM **only 6" above/ away from the top of my white wall corner drain pipe. The WM pipe's way too long, so it's going in a big loop down first, around, up.. & into my wall pipe. Is this ok, or is my WM draining compromised by this big pipe loop? If it's better cut right down, how far down the wall pipe should it go? Thank, Zoot
  9. Yup understood ProDave thanks. The level today in the u-bend, is in fact lower by an inch, than it was at brimfull yesterday. So this might suggest the blockage -was- ice, & now it's clear.. & settled to it's normal level in this u-bend. But I don't know. So, I still need to rule out any debris blockage, in the u-bend... or along the long bath-length pipe gradually sloping down & exiting the wall.. & lastly within the outside 500mm vertical pipe leading to the drain. Afaict, I can't determine if there are any blockage in these 3 pipe sections, unless I connect my new bits to it, the bath connected too.. fill a bath somewhat full, & pull the plug for a test run. Then if it's still blocked, Im back bailing out & swearing alot. Or am I missing a trick here?
  10. Actually chaps, I'm not out of the woods yet on this. I'm only assuming the innitial blockage, was a frozen outside bath drainpipe section. So, I could fit the new section today as it's a few degrees above 0.. & the bath still may not drain of course. This detatched U-bend trap section, as said is brim-full of bath drain water. Is this normal? Or does this high level suggest something's amiss? Thanks zoot
  11. Got this McAlpine one. https://www.toolstation.com/mcalpine-bath-wasteoverflow/p59080 Must say, Screwfix in town.. you feel like a number, fodder. Toolstation, new in town (far fewer folks in, helps every time) is the reverse: all staff are very helpful & very friendly. Every time. I am hoping to win a screwdriver in their prizedraw, yes it's true, but I'm impressed, & that helps a panicking idiot like me. Z
  12. I've no doubt about that. I was shocked at 88 though ( i went to the end to try easier diving in to pg 13!). I'll do a condensed peruse of the thread over xmas, interested to see what you've done. --- Just dived into town with my old placcy bits.. saw one onlne in toolstation/ £6.. & same thread, well seems so. Thanks y'all I think it's downhill how. Once my pipe's thawed out that is, assuming a rat hasn't wedged up it. Much oblidged- Zooter
  13. Page 13.. out of.. 88?! Omg I feel so vindicated!
  14. But my 3rd photo can't possibly be considered a 1-1/2" pipe.. this is strange.
  15. Well this is kinda what logic tells me too.
  16. No 1-1/2" dim can't be correct look here.. (might have to at this rate!)
  17. 47mm across like this, or 1-7/8"
  18. Ok I need help on the lower thread diameter. No screwfix type ^ available. I find a similar one @ Toolstation, but says " 1-1/2" " . I measure across my old thread= 1-7/8". Urgh. So I wonder if this 1-1/2" figure is relevant to the thread at all. Maybe just the body width. Anyone know what the dim I'm aiming for is? Surely these u-bend sections have an industry-standard-size thread?? Am I measuring across -this- thread on the u-bend? And across the very outer part? Thanks, Zoot
  19. Got it/ jeepers hard work that. Ok the removed black main bit has ENFLOW enscribed. Can I just assume the new screwfix one will be the correct diameter thread, to join my U-Bend below ? I mean Enflow suggests its mfr was reasonably recent, I think?
  20. Ok great/ got some SLSht stuff left. Ok removed the screw/ plug & black main section below bath (including the top black "gasket" section of it, plastic too & which was warped- hence leak I hope). Cleaned up the bath flange area ready. But I can't see how to undo the overflow plug tho.. no similar screw in the middle. I also need to replace this, but only cosmetically/ mine's chrome paint worn off. Thanks zoot
  21. Is there any seal paste stuff to do, to join the new black underside to the bathtub below? Or is it essentially like my franke sink, & just uses a gasket & friction-fit? Be great if so. Cheers y'all. Zoothorn
  22. Hi ProDave, aha right. So essentially is this whole unit in your photo is bought as one, & I just need to buy a new one? Thanks, zoot
  23. Haha. Actually Temp I was intelligent enough to have bailed out all the bathwater, prior to my photo.
  24. Hi Peter, yes indeed there is.
  25. @Onoff fab reference photos there. Seriously useful: even if I get builder in to do excavation work.. now seems the sensible route.. I can refer to these giving me a better knowledge of their job 'steps' involved. And an ideal reference for when I do the 'easy/ downhill' part of the job too. Thanks so much for adding these. Im sure others will be grateful too. I bet your tearing your hair out trying to persuade Swmbo to let you attack the floor. In meantime, anyone using the word pouffe gets my vote! I haven't heard that word since my grannie used it in 1976! ThankZ
