  1. Just so that I understand what is going one. These mixer valves allow the fluid to be circulated around the UFH pipework. When a greater temperature is needed, they open up a valve from the ASHP/Buffer/Thermal Store (or whatever) and inject some hotter fluid into the UFH pipework, with some colder fluid redirected back to the ASHP/Buffer/Thermal Store (or whatever). Then, when it is up to to the desired temperature, they close again and the UFH pipework is allowed to have fluid flow though it until the temperature drops and another injection is needed. So as long as the ASHP/Buffer/Thermal Store (or whatever) is at a greater temperature i.e. 40°C for a floor flow temperature of say 35°C, then the mixer valve does the fine control. If cooling then it is reversed with warm water from the UFH pipework being sent to the ASHP/Buffer/Thermal Store (or whatever). Actually, probably not a thermal store in this case. Is that basically right?
  2. Bobby Sands' phone number was 808080 His cellmate's number was 802802
  3. I did see that god's cousin, Furby. I ran terrified out the room as it attracted children.
  4. If you don't have tractors passing by, or mooing cows, bleating sheep, barley (I am badly allergic the pollen), or basically an industrial process on your door step, how does this affect your house value. Like windfarms, is there really any evidence that holds up that there is a genuine negative impact. Or is it just a belief based on nothing.
  5. When I worked in the PV industry, we dealt with a lot of slate roofed places. Some of the hooks have nice rounded ends, others are as sharp as nails. I think you know which would be best. I used slate for another purpose and have found the local (Delabole) slate dreadful. I had some Brazilians and it was much more to my taste. I agree that an angle grinder and diamond cutter is a quick and fast way to do a simple, straight cut.
  6. Get the council to make you homeless, then they can rehouse you. Play it right and you can then buy the house they put you in with a hefty discount. Mate of mine won his appeal on this sort of thing. One council department wanted to throw him off where he was living in a touring van, another department stepped in and said they would have too rehouse them and they had no money/spare properties (which is of course rubbish as they have loads in Cornwall).
  7. Have you tried calling up some of the more specialised local housebuilders or architects? There are a few near you.
  8. Bugger, missed that. Give me another so that I can keep my average at 100% wrong
  9. Does not give alerts though, and that is what Ian is after. You could try looking at some surfing apps, they are a lazy bunch of xxxxx and probably have already written something. http://www.surfline.com/surf-science/how-to-create-a-surf-alert_22491/
  10. Sounds like you are really after a weather prediction app, can't say I have seen one. You could link into a raw feed and make your own. Can't be that hard. Might not work on all web browsers though, so will be useless
  11. Are they any good? They website claims (used to, seems to be under construction at the moment) they are better in the British climate (whatever that is).
  12. Are you allowed to burn MDF and chipboard legally. I would have thought is was treated timber.
  13. It does not convert all stored carbon to CO2 and CH4. Around 40% becomes relatively inert "soil" that is one of the largest carbon stores we have. It is about 5% by mass in the first 100mm of soil depth (Upson et al, 2016), reforestation of pastoral land is even better. SO planting new trees is a better idea that managing existing forests. There is also a lot of scope to vary the types of trees planted if you want to sequester carbon in soil, but balancing growth rate, decomposition rate and leaf fall. That is before plantation location is considered. As for the 'black helicopters'. Whenever @JSHarris mates fly over Porthleven heading towards Goldsithney or Relubus (where SarahSW lives, what happened to her), I think of this.
  14. How is the total square metreage measured? Internal habitable space. My house would sneak in this.
  15. So this P2P: the Wikipedia entry: not checked in any detail and this Peer To Peer lending defined are not the same thing.
  16. I have suggested that to keep things readable, we merge all the crowd/P2P/F2F money lending post together as I can't follow it all.
  17. Can we merge some of these threads about money, it is getting hard to follow them. I think there are 4 going on at the moment.
